Chapter 9: aunt Nana
"Maddison, give me a fierce look!"Claire continues to do what the photographer asks.
"Nice! Now bend over and touch your knee!"
She flips her hair making it dishevelled adding effect to her seductive and fierce look.
She's been constantly changing and posing for hours.
Her heels is aching because of high heels she was made to wear.
"Done! Take a break!"
Claire goes off to Taylor who was handing her a water.
"That's one of a hell photoshoot. Are you okay?", She has a concern look on her face that warms Claire's heart.
"Nothing new,", she replies with a small smile.
This is her second photoshoot since signing a contract with the Queen Clothing.
Their team's photographer is seriously demanding and perfectionist, which gives her quite a hard time.
Fortunately, she's not been messing up in her work.
"It will be the July edition, and this is your first front page cover. Your debut as a model will depend on this July edition's sales."
She's been a model under EE Entertainment since 6 months ago.
So far, she's covering for the Class C fashion magazines, and hasn't been given a chance until two months ago.
She's aiming for the top, but it seems aiming for the top is easier said than done; she has over hundreds of competitors, and some of them have strong backing. She's at the bottom of the chain.
"I've done my best, they will do the rest. I'm highly confident with my modelling skill, hopefully, our hardwork pays off."
She grew up having to dress as fashionable as possible because her mother was a model; she didn't like seeing her daughter looking like a peasant or something.
"Sadly, people see the results and barely think of people's hardwork."
That might be true, but considering how perfectionist the Queen Clothing team's photographer, she's hoping for the best magazine editor, and that they will not let down their expectations for a good front cover.
Claire has an hour break, so they returned to her dressing room to eat their delivery there; it wasn't big, but enough to fit 3 person doing her make up, and Taylor.
"So, I don't want to distract you, but I want to ask how have you and Martin been so far?"
Claire puts down her chopsticks down.
How were they so far?
She's been busy sorting her schedule in school and work. Taylor mainly does the research about the brands that want her as their model, she's still the one responsible of rejecting and accepting the work.
It's what she tells herself at least.
After her 'planned' confession which, by the way, Taylor said was wrong because she sounded like a desperate gold digger, and her unread text message, she never again tried to talk to him.
She's so stupid to actually think that someone like Martin would want to have anything to with her; she's just a mess, and most of the time bitchy.
She often forgets to iron her uniform before she sleeps at night, so one time she didn't have the choice, but go to school with creased uniform.
She doesn't like having any other people in her house, so she does all the works.
She was so embarrassed that she can't help but be a bitch to him.
She likes Martin, but she's not willing to look vulnerable in front of him. She doesn't want to get attached to him.
There are too many reasons why she shouldn't dream of being with Martin, plus, for once she highly doubted her affect on men.
"Claire?"
"Claire!"
Claire dazed eyes were cleared up.
"What's up?"
She looks at Taylor's concern look, she shrugs and picks the chopsticks.
"We're okay, he's been busy, I guess? I've been busy myself."
In truth, she doesn't really know.
Anthony would text her and she'd reply but when it got to the point when Anthony mentions Martin, she'd never reply to him again.
Anthony might have noticed already, so he avoided mentioning his best friend.
"I don't know what happened between you two, but you guys look distracted. Did you know that Martin's best friend, that jerk, messaged to ask me if I know what's going on with you two?"
Claire let out a chuckle hearing Taylor call Anthony a jerk.
Anthony's a sweetheart, how can she even call him a jerk?
"If Anthony's fans know you called their Prince a jerk, they would bash you."
She couldn't help but smile seeing Taylor rolling her eyes-- she actually rolls her eyes over something so trivial! How laughable.
"He's the only School Prince I knew that's actually in scholarship program."
Claire gasps in disbelief, "Hey! Don't criticize him for being in a scholarship program. I can't believe I'm actually hearing this from you. Do you have grudge on him or something?".
Taylor seems to realize her mistake, she whispers a sorry.
"None. He seemed to hate me, so I hate him, too."
That's reasonable.
You can't hate all your haters, but you can hate those haters near you. That makes the two of them have mutual feelings.
"Anyway, don't change the topic, I see what you're doing."
"Can we talk about that later? Because as you can tell, I still have photoshoot to finish."
"No, Dad. I'm just really just visiting the company. I'm not ready to make major decisions.", Martin said to his dad over the phone.
He's visiting their company every weekend to keep up with what happening inside their company.
"Your aunt. Nana want you and Anthony to play together again."
His aunt. Nana is his father's younger sister.
She was the one who always went to his and Anthony's battle of the band way back primary school.
Both of them find her funny, loveable, very supportive; she'd always come with some of her friends just because she wants many clappers, even her bodyguards will be treated to a fine dining restaurant after the competition ended.
He respects her so much.
She's only 25 years old and she works as a head talent agent at the EE Entertainment.
Speaking of his aunt. Nana, it's her birthday next month, first week.
"If she can offer me a good deal, maybe we can talk about it. As of now, my shop is thriving and I have bigger fish to fry."
He hears his father laughing, but he didn't know why.
"You're at the office right now?"
"Yes, why?"
"Because I texted your aunt. Nana that you're there. Bye!"
"Dad..."
Is his aunt. Nana at her office today?
She will beat him up if he let her come to his father's office to met him.
"I will have to come down to her office instead of getting beaten."
