TW: more angst

Jimin couldn't help but beam at the photo. He plopped onto the bed as he inspected the picture more.

"This is cute. Where was this?" Jimin asked, glancing up at Jungkook briefly.

Jungkook matched his bright smile and came to sit next to him. The Omega could feel the other's heat as he pressed his body tightly into his. Jimin's body became hyper-aware of all the Alpha's little movements.

It was as if it was second nature for his whole being to react to Jungkook.

"This one is rare. There isn't any other in the world." Jungkook's smile became dim as he stared deeper into the picture. "We took this picture on another school trip. You were the happiest here."

Jimin became serious as he watched Jungkook get lost in thought. He thought this was a good time to ask him those hard questions.

"Jungkook, I need to know more about that fight before the trip. What happened that caused me to walk miles away from the site and hitchhike?" Jimin tried to read Jungkook's emotionless, wide gaze, but it was no use.

He inhaled and exhaled before he stood. The Alpha walked over to the window overlooking the clouds, hunched and tired. From this view, Jungkook looked like an old, rich married guy going through a messy divorce.

"There are a lot of reasons, I suppose." He leaned into the window, watching as a large cloud cast a shadow over a patch of Seoul. "I don't want you to relive whatever pain you felt and be powerless to console you. Jimin, I'm being honest when I say I have no clue."

"Are you saying there are many instances that could have caused me to run away so recklessly?" Jimin theorized, throwing the picture back on the bed.

"Yes. We had, no – have a lot of issues, Min-ah. You're known to run away when you can't handle things." Jungkook put his hands in his pockets and looked at the floor. "It happened after the runway show for the new fall/winter collection."

Jungkook finally turned to Jimin; his face looked pained. "I was with Taehyung way before it was time to go to the runway. He pestered me to go with him, so I agreed. I texted you, asking if it would be fine. You replied and said you were okay with it. So me and Taehyung arrived together."

Jimin observed in silence as Jungkook looked at him, waiting for some reaction. After not finding what he wanted, the taller continued.

"After the show ended; the staff was cleaning up, and you were resting because you felt light-headed. Taehyung took me to a hallway and –" Jungkook paused, his expression looking regretful. Copper eyes looked desperately at Jimin. "He asked me if I still had feelings for him."

The Omega felt his head start to pound as he heard these words. It was as if he was getting a wicked case of Deja Vu.

"Kook, I still love you." A yearning confession ringed in Jimin's ears.

"W-What did you say?" Jimin grounded himself, head spinning as Jungkook continued.

The Alpha hesitated, and silence followed suit. He just stood there...eyes sorry and body defeated. Jimin recognized this loud silence and that shameful look.

"Jungkook, do you still love me?"

...

Jimin felt like something had cracked within him. As the silence stretched, more of those cracks began to form. No – that's not it. They were already there, every time Jungkook was blind.
