Diluc's POV ;

As I finished tidying myself up, I exited my room, heading downstairs.

I'm quite shocked at the fact that Y/N still puts up with Venti's ignorance. Many would just leave him, or be desperate to escape his grasp.

Speaking of Y/N, I noticed the transition in her mood after that negative interaction with that adeptus. But despite that, she was still smiling at the rest of us, before we left to our rooms.

She either wanted to befriend the boy, or had her spirits brought down because of that whole scene.

Or perhaps, it's both.

As I head down the stairs, I notice the dining table, with utencils and plates for us, along with a large bowl full of spaghetti.

There Y/N was, elbows on the counter, with her hands busy holding that so - called gadget, "phone".

She seemed to be smiling. And not the smile she'd left with us moments before we were sent to our rooms. It was a genuine smile, one I haven't seen before.

I silently watch as I make my way down. Stairs creak, as Y/N raises her head in a flash, with wide eyes.

Y/N's eyes relaxed as soon as we made eye contact. Either that meant she was on her guard, or she is hiding something on that 'phone'.

"Ah, it's just you. Anyway, what about the others? Are they almost done getting ready n' stuff?" She spoke, a smile on her face. I watched as she hid her phone in her hands, being kept away from my line of vision.

"They'll be down in a minute." I blankly respond.

I reach the bottom of the stairs, not knowing how to get out of the current silence and thick tension between us two. I lean on a wall beside the stairs.

I glance once more at her, and notice her smile had faded, and the spark in her eyes before had dimmed a little.

She looked so gloomy?

"You seem less energetic than usual. Perhaps you feel..guilty? About Xiao, I mean." No answer. The girl only tilts her head down a little.

As a response to her silence, I sigh. "Don't worry too much about it, that's just how he is.-"

"I knew we wouldn't get along- but I still tried anyway. I hate this, it feels so awkward now. We aren't mad at each other but it seems so. I can't exactly ask Aether or Venti about it, so i'm alone on this one." The girl on the counter sighed.

Not knowing how to respond, I stay silent. Remembering anyone could be listening in. If anyone did, that could potentially mean problems ; such as my pride being at stake.
