Chapter 48:Time.

"Mother.." Flare muttered as she held her uchine after her father's berating.

Her eyes wavered and her erratic breath was filled with fear.

"FLARE!!!" Noel shouted towards her as she runs up to the throne.

"How many more years do you think she has left?" Asks the king in a serious tone.

Flare felt a chill throughout her whole body from that remark alone.

"Look at yourself, you haven't got over your mother and yet you went and fell in love with a human." The King sneered.

A flame of rage started burning within Flare and she retorted "You don't know me! AHHHHH!!" She put in even more strength in her strikes.

Noel reached Flare and intended to help her but was stopped.

"This is my fight, stand back..."

Noel refused to comply with such bullshit and retorted "NO! It's our fight! Why do you need to take him on by yourself?!"

"Noel... please, just this once" She stared at Noel with an intense glint.

Noel rarely hesitated, and what's more surprising is that she stood back as she was told.

"Now, where were we?" The King said in a playful tone

Flare took off the bag of arrows and swung it across the air in an circular arc, spreading the arrow out of the quiver and into the air. The arrows that escaped the quiver did not fall into the ground but instead they stayed in the air forming a wall of arrows surrounding Flare.

"AHHHHHH!" Flare made a gesture of pushing both of her hands forward with the whole strength of her body and the arrows launched towards the King at tremendous might.

'Things aren't looking good over there... ' I thought as I struggled with the hydra.

"Botan! 3rd head from the right! Left cranium!" I yelled across the room.

Botan immediately laid on the ground to get a better angle of vantage. She took her shot, the bullet entered through the left eye socket and the hydra stopped moving.

She finished the hydra just as I was done destroying my hydra's spirit core. Undead creatures all possess a spirit core and it's only about where it's at, destroying it will result in stopping it but when it comes to necromancers, their spirit core simply reignites after being destroyed. Which is why we need to hurry befo-

The ground shook and skeletal frames started to sprout out of the earth in huge numbers. They even started to flood from the holes in the ceiling.

"Fuck..."

Botan opened her dimensional pocket, she pulled out 2 machine guns. She threw me a machine gun immediately and started firing her's.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*

"Smile and wave boy, smile and wave." said Botan as she waved the machine gun around while smiling.

I never used a gun but I know how to pull a trigger.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* The gun fires at rapid speed with an amazing recoil, mowing down the undeads. I tried waving the gun around like Botan with a smile that floated up unconsciously.

"AHHHHHHHHH" a sudden scream filled the room.

All the arrows landed at the target. However, the king hid behind a wall made out of bones that defended him against that attack. Despite that, an arrow managed to lodge itself into the heart of the king.

"You... were aiming for this..." the light in the eyes of the King went out after saying his final words.

"Hah...hah...hah..hah" Flare pant heavily after used up her energy to launch that attack with great precision as she pushed the first arrow with a second arrow to make it go through the wall of bones.

The flame in the king's right eye rekindles. " Hehe, you got me good, but there won't be next time."

"Getting complacent aren't we?" Calli spoke in a teasing tone from the sidelines.

She placed her cup on the tray held by one of the undead skeletons and shouted in the rumbling cave

"I didn't wager my life for this! Show me a fight that's worth the wager for my life!" Calli commanded in a demanding manner.

"As you wish..." the King had a murderous glint in his eye.

The king placed both his hands in his pocket and dashed towards Flare.

Seeing that Flare tries to step out of his range in an instant

The King's arm swung through the air like a whip and by dislocating all his joints it managed to gain a longer and lethal attack towards Flare's neck.

'Shit! He never showed this move before!' Flare cursed, accepted her fate and closed her eyes

Flare braced for impact but the blow didn't hit on her where she expected it to land. In reaction to the metallic sound, she opened her eyes to see the familiar silver haired figure in front of her blocking the strike.

"Your stubbornness ends here." Noel calmly spoke to her.

The King seeing his attack being blocked jumps backwards to reposition himself and ready to fight against 2 opponents.

"Noel..."

"Listen closely Flare, don't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you."

"That doesn't make any sense..." the King was bewildered by the statement

"Who the hell do you think we are!!!!" yelled Noel full of spunk

"We're the strongest couple in existence, and we will go through any challenge we face!"

"Let's do that, Flare" Noel grabbed Flare's shoulders.

"That?" flare was genuinely confused.

"What else could it be!" Noel exclaimed.

"Combine!"
