Chapter 33- Edge VS Noel

Noel started dashing at me with great speed and I began running cautiously. Due to her having greater range, I entered her range first and she swung her fist towards my jaw. Immediately, I responded by hardening my whole body with metal Ki and directed my fist at her fist. Both fists clashed and the air in the surrounding seemed to have collided but there's no sound made by my blow, no bone crackling, no blood or anything.

"Hou, stage 10 strengthening..., you do qualify but that's not enough."[Noel]

Strengthening is one of the common abilities anyone with aptitude can possess and it was believed at stage 10 in the limit a human can achieve until Noel showed up. I'm currently at stage 7 but thanks to Ki I could bump up to stage 10 and beyond easily. 

Noel changed her fighting stance and came at me with a flurry of attacks. I backed up immediately and deflected her attacks, evaded a kick directed to the head, and then I began my counterattack. I tripped the only leg pivoting her body. Therefore, stumbling her forward then I grappled her hand and locked her throat with my legs. Realizing she's in trouble, she stood up without any trouble and attempted to hit me by spinning the hardest and then dropping me on the floor to transfer all that momentum onto me. But that was useless, I had hardened myself with metal Ki from the start to brace the impact. After 2 tries she ripped her hand out of my grasp by force hence breaking my left arm despite the protection from metal Ki.

*Crack* "Ugh" [Edge]

"I don't know what tricks you used but you sure are sturdy." [Noel]

I rolled away from her and stood up holding my busted arm.

"And you're a monster, Who gets out of a triangle hold like that." [Edge]

I wrapped a cloth around my busted arm and fixated it with my sheath. After I'm done I get into a battle stance.

"You sure you still can fight like that?" [Noel]

"I'm a warrior, at any condition is my peak condition." [Edge]

Noel grins.

"Well said." [Noel]

Noel came at me mercilessly as we exchanged punches and kicks. I hit Noel everywhere but she didn't seem to be affected by my attacks. Meanwhile, I'm the one getting more and more damaged as time passes on. 20 minutes have passed and my full-bodied metal Ki won't last much longer as time goes on. I need to figure out what her ability is or I'll lose.

"Running out of breath?" [Noel]

"Quit talking like you've won" [Edge]

I started with a Kick but Noel catches the sole of my feet with her hand in response.

"Looks like it's my win." [Noel]

Noel began spinning me just like in a vortex.

"As a penalty for losing, you're going to help me bring my lunch."[Noel]

"What?"[Edge]

"When you land, they'll guide you"[Noel]

She then accelerated the spin and threw me in the direction of the Candy Kingdom.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....*vomits* " [Edge]

I flew in the air while vomiting profusely. I could see everything from the air, even Miko's base and also the Candy kingdom that I'm approaching in sight. After in the air for 2 minutes I crash-landed near the gates of Candy Kingdom leaving a trail of destruction.

"Hehe, someone should hire her to throw things into space don't you think?" [Joe]

From the distance, someone I know walks towards where I landed as if he was expecting me.

"You just flew 5 kilometers in 3 minutes, I know there's a lot to take in but you start with cleaning up on your own mess. " [Joe]

Joe started shoveling back dirt into the crater that I made after throwing me a shovel. I followed through with one arm and we finished filling up the trail completely. Now follow me, we entered the gates and walked along a familiar trail until we reached the gyudon restaurant I was with Noel yesterday. Joe walked into the shop despite the long queue outside.

"Hahahahah again?" [Gyudon Owner]

"No, but this time it's him." [Joe]

Joe pointed at me standing next to him.

"Weren't you with her just yesterday? So you'll take charge of her lunch from now on?" [Gyudon owner]

"No, it's just a temporary arrangement, this kid got some big backer." [Joe]

"Anyway it's good to see you around kid"[Gyudon Owner]

The owner packed a lunchbox for me to take out of the store, Joe helped me pay 5 Candy coins and brought me to a transport carriage that is going towards the military base.

"Here is as far as I'll take you. After you reach, just pay the guy 10 Candy coins as the fare."[Joe]

Joe prepared to leave but I stopped him

"Joe, is this why you gave up during the match?" [Edge]

"NO, I would never give up, I never lost to her but i thought that if it's you, You might be able to win. But it turns out you lost to her after all."[Joe]

Joe left for real this time.

"I'LL WIN AGAINST HER NEXT TIME!!" [Edge]

"Heh, you should take care of your arm before doing that."[Joe]

I left the Candy Kingdom in the carriage holding on to Noel's lunch. After 30 minutes I reached the base and Noel was happy seeing her lunch in my hand. We sat down in the plains for her to enjoy it.

"Don't they deliver food in here you could have just asked someone to buy it for you?" [Edge]

"But they buy food for everyone, it would have gotten cold when it reached here, besides it's bad to inconvenience them." [Noel]

Suddenly I noticed a fly sticking on her nape. I decided to flick it away without needing to tell her as she was burying her head into her lunchbox. I flicked it once but I didn't feel that I hit anything. I removed my hand and found the fly still attached to her back. I flicked it a few more times but it still stays in its place. Out of annoyance, I decided to just kill it. I slapped at it but it feels as if I'm slapping on a dense rock and when I removed my hand the fly was still alive. I tried to touch the fly slowly this time and I managed to touch the fly after facing some slight resistance in the space above her skin. I accidentally touched Noel in the process and by pushing the fly up I managed to free it.

"EEK! what was that! Did you just touch me?!" [Noel]

"There, There was a fly!" [Edge]

"YOU PERVERT !!!" [Noel]

Noel grabbed my leg and threw me in the direction of Miko's Base at full force.

Upon landing I accidentally crashed into someone holding a lava bucket. On that day, half of the base along with Miko's tent was burnt down before the fire completely stops...

{Today's result: Miko's complete loss}
