Farquaad POV
My dear Y/N had prepared breakfast. Pancakes with a wonderful mix of berries and cream. You know, when I was a little lad- "Farquaad... honey..." my love interrupted "I want us to leave the argument from yesterday dead and buried." They said, nervously stirring the cream around in the bowl. "Of course, my dear, I'm glad you said that because well..." i saw their big eyes look up at me when I said that. I loved them dearly, but they'd never give me what I want, to be king. I avoided their eyes to make lying feel a bit easier. "... I'm going on a business trip, just for a while, lord stuff."
"Oh well, that's perfect, I can come with! I'm sure wherever you're going is beautiful this time of year, being summer and all." They said to me, smiling, with that look in their eyes. That gullible, warm look. Have they learnt nothing? "No, my dear, I think some time apart will do us some good. As they say distance makes the heart grow taller" "fonder." They said, their kind tone fading. "What?"
"Distance makes the heart grow fonder. That's the saying"I wasn't sure what mood they were in, but it wasn't positive. A part of me wished to comfort them, make them smile again, give them the same warm look they had given me. But another part of me thought why? Why would I? If not useful in my plan to grab the throne by it's tits, why keep them around?
