Y/N POV

"Tell me, sir magic mirror, what made Farquaad order you out here?" I asked. "I was no longer useful to him anymore..." I couldn't help to draw parallels to myself. "What did he need you for in the first place anyways...?" I asked, curious as to what made my husband this cruel yet again. "He wishes to marry a princess, I gave him some options, he made his decision... and there we go, I get thrown out. The man treated me as if disposable."

My stomach dropped. "He... he wishes to marry a princess?" I asked, holding a lump of sorrow in my throat. "Yes... it's Farquaad, what can you expect, the man is insatiable when it comes to the power he holds. I assume he wishes for Duloc to be a kingdom."

Of course... time and time again I fall for the same plays. Did I really think he would be pleased with a village person like me? Not Lord Farquaad. "What princess did he decide on?" "Princess Fiona." The mirror showed me an image of a beautiful woman with long red hair worn in a single braid wearing a long sleeve velvet green dress. "And where is she?" I asked as I straightened my back.

"Princess Fiona is being held in the tallest tower in an abandoned castle atop a tall mountain, sounds easy enough if you have climbing gear, but there is a drawback... the castle is guarded by a dragon. One who breathes fire at that." The mirror said.

I had an idea, it was a crazy one... but.
"I'll find her, I'll rescue her and I'll marry her."
I said. Smiling, slyly. "You... what?" The magic mirror was clearly shocked at my remarks. "How will you make it? I already told you about the dragon, the tower, there is no way!"

"No way? As of now I am still Farquaads spouse meaning I have the rights to his funds. With that money I can hire a mercenary band of my choosing with no trouble at all." The mirror went quiet. "I suppose there's not much anyone can do to stop you." He said, almost in a defeated tone.

"Except Farquaad. It's between him and me to see who reaches Fiona first, and whoever does... wins."
