"So you really killed them?" Karl asked Dream.
Dream hesitated and nodded, not knowing what his reaction would be. "Yea, I mean, I never checked for a pulse, but I don't know how they could've survived."
Karl smiled softly and rested on his lovers chest, "Thank you, I don't think I would've been able to do it." He murmured.
Dream relaxed a little, knowing the brunette wasn't mad. "I'd do anything for you." He replied back softly, running his fingers through the youngers hair.
There was a long moment of silence, though comfortable.
"Don't you think they'll come after us now?" Karl asked his lover, head still resting on his chest.
"What do you mean? Don't you think we're hidden well enough?" Dream asked.
Karl frowned, "Well, won't they suspect something, like why we wouldn't blow the forest up too? Won't they start coming in here to get recourses?" Karl rambled on.
"Karl." Dream cut the younger off, who quickly shut up, "Everything will be fine, okay?"
Karl hesitated for a moment, and then nodded. "Right. Right, okay."
"Are you saying that because you believe it, or because you feel like you need to say it." Dream asked.
Karl shook his head, "No, I believe it."
Dream planted a kiss on the brunette's forehead, "Good. You know i'd never let anyone hurt you, right?"
Karl nodded, "I know, i'd do the same for you." He propped himself up to face his lover with a warm smile.
Dream smiled and sat up, placing Karl in his lap. "I know you would."
Karl giggled and kissed Dream, "I love you."
Dream smiled, "I love you too."
As the months went by, the two lovers lived their happy lives, not really bothering anyone anymore. Just living the best they could. Only occasionally visting the town people had started to rebuild, just to check it out.
"It's still a shock how many people are gone now." Karl said to Dream.
They were on the mountain having a nice day off, already having recourses for the rest of the month prepared. Calmly watching their past friends building, chopping down trees, and collecting food down below.
"Agreed." Dream said back casually, running his fingers through Karl's hair.
"The memorial they built is beautiful." Karl said softly, pointing out the memorial everyone had built for the people they lost during this.
Dream nodded. It was nice. It was made out of quartz, a beautiful stack of blocks going in a spiral. A path made of stone leading up to it, flowers decorating the ground everywhere, adding a pop of color.
"It's impressive." Dream commented, holding the younger.
Karl nodded in agreement, and rested his eyes, leaning his head against the blonde. Dream let the younger boy sleep while he continued to watch. Enjoying how they looked at ants at work from where he stood.
Suddenly his eyes caught something, or someone, running into the forest. His eyes focused on in the forest scanning it, and he swear he saw someone else run in. He watched the forest carefully, until he caught something orange in between the trees.
He shook his lover, who groggily woke up. Karl whined and burried his face in Dream's hoodie.
"Love, we need to go. Now." Dream said as calm as possible to not worry the boy.
