"I broke all my bones that day I found you crying at the lake..."

(Y/N) ran towards Hange's house, the cold winter air causing her face to grow cold. She should have waited until morning, but she couldn't wait that long. She had to tell Hange now. She pounded on their door rapidly, hoping that Hange hadn't gone to sleep yet. One minute passed...then two...and she began to grow antsy. Her hand knocked on the door rapidly, and she tried peering in the nearby window to see if anyone was awake. The door flew open suddenly, startling her.

"(Y/N)?" Hange asked, confused. They were wearing their pajamas and looked like they were getting ready for bed. Their eyes widened when they saw that she wasn't wearing a jacket and they ushered her in quickly. "What are you doing? It's freezing cold outside! Why aren't you—"

"I got the job!" (Y/N) squealed, unable to keep it in any longer. A few weeks ago, she had applied to be a side character in a popular sitcom. She wasn't sure why she had applied or why her parents even let her, but she got the job. She was going to be on television.

"The job...?" Hange squinted as they tried to remember what she was talking about.

"The acting job! I got the acting job!" She bounded on the toes of her feet, looking at Hange with enthusiasm.

"Oh!" Hange exclaimed. "You got the job! Oh my god, (Y/N)...you're going to be on the show?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" (Y/N) grinned. "Isn't that crazy? I'm going to be on tv, Hange! They accepted me even though I have zero experience!"

"I can't believe you're going to be on our favorite show," Hange breathed in awe, their eyes glittering with excitement. "That's gonna be awesome!"

"I'll take you on set with me," (Y/N) promised, gripping onto Hange's arm. "After I introduce myself to the cast, I'll bring you with me so you can get their autographs too!"

"Really?" Hange gushed. "I would love that!"

"Of course," (Y/N) sighed happily, feeling content. "It'll be so much fun. You and me on set. Are you sure you don't want to apply as an extra? We can act together!"

"Nah, not really my thing," Hange smiled. They reached out and pulled (Y/N) in for a hug, their arms squeezing her tightly. "But I'm so happy for you! This is amazing."

"Do you think I'll be fine?" (Y/N) asked quietly as she leaned into Hange's hug. "I've never acted before...and the rest of the cast is experienced. Do you think I'll suck?"

"No! You'll be a great actor," Hange reassured. "The audience is going to love you!"

"I hope so..." (Y/N) murmured. "I have to admit, I'm a little nervous. And scared. What if people make fun of me?"

"Then I'll beat them up," Hange said simply. "Don't care what other people say. They're all stupid, anyway."

(Y/N) giggled at the thought of Hange beating someone up. They wouldn't do that. They couldn't hurt a fly. Well...maybe for research purposes they would. But Hange was as sweet as they were passionate. They wouldn't hurt anyone, even if they insulted her. But that was alright. She didn't really need anyone else's opinion anyway. She beamed up at Hange, her arms wrapped firmly around their waist. All she needed was for them to stay by her side. All she needed was their opinion. No on else mattered.

The dance was in one week. Six and a half more days. (Y/N) had done her best to delay being asked out or asking out Hange. She had formulated the best polite rejection possible so that she could turn down the many guys who came her way. Come to the dance with us, (Y/N)! Let us be your date, (Y/N)! Yeah, right. They all just wanted her as a side piece, as something to raise their rank and status. Going out with (Y/N) would instantly boost someone's reputation. Their face would be plastered over the news, their name would be at the tip of every young fan's tongue. (Y/N) had no privacy. And neither did her love interests.
