"So this is your room," He motions to the small bed in the corner of the room, and a wardrobe on the opposite wall, "It's not much but, I'd be happier knowing you were safe and living with me then with your dad,"
"Thank you Enjolras, it's fine. More than I was expecting,"
"It's kind of cold in here as well so I will bring more blankets in for you,"
I nod as he exits my room, leaving the door open behind him. "Oh! And have a look inside the cupboards," He smiles, nodding towards the wardrobe and backing out again.
More?
I open the door slowly, to reveal 4 new dresses hanging up neatly. A navy blue one, a brown one and two green ones, all too beautiful for me to even consider wearing, "Enjolras!" I shriek, "Whose are these?"
"Yours," He smirks, his arms wrapping around my waist from behind, my hands clasped over his,
"Where did you get them from?"
"I took in your old dress to the dressmakers down the street for measurements so they should fit you perfectly,"
He walks around me and places his hand on the second cupboard handle, "Did you see this side?"
I shake my head hesitantly as he opens the second door, revealing petticoats of 2 different sizes and corsets of all different colors, skirts and blouses too,
"People aren't going to think lowly of you now,"
"They know me, it's too late to change that, they'll just wonder where I got them from, they will probably think that I stole them or something," I mutter shaking my head and tucking my head into his shoulder and my arms winding around his waist,
"When they see me with you they won't,"
"No they will think that I'm a gold digger and only love you for your wealth and gifts,"
He sighs and sits me down on the bed, "I won't let them think that," He places a light kiss on my forehead and hugs me tightly, "Come out to the kitchen when you are done and I'll make some supper for you,"
I nod and walk over to the mass of fabric in front of me, running my fingers over the smooth material of the dresses in admiration for what seems like hours on end.
"Eponine! Come into the kitchen," He smiles, ushering me out the door, "I may need to go back to the cafe, so..."
"You want me stay here so no-one suspects anything?"
"No! Well, you used to come to the meetings right?"
"Yes,"
"So, I'm just thinking out loud here, these men look to me for support; would seeing me in love make them think that I'm not focused properly? That I was weak,"
"I honestly could not tell you, I think that everyone is going to figure it out eventually,"
"What?"
"That you're in love," I tease, hugging his tall frame much larger than my own,
"So should I... This is too confusing,"
"Maybe I should just go then? Let you have some time to think," I ask, my hands resting on his waist and staring into his eyes.
"No! Absolutely not, I finally found a girl who loves me ba-"
"I'm not going anywhere if you do not want me to,"
He sighs and nods, his forehead resting on my shoulder, "I want to talk to you about this revolution," I say uncomfortably. What if he dies? That's two boys breaking my heart,
"What about it?"
"I can't ask you not to fight can I?"
"Epo-"
"You and Gavrouche are the only people I have left. If one or both of you died, I don't know what I would do,"
Enjolras shakes his head looking at his feet, his hair falling around his face, "I cannot back out on my brothers,"
"But your partner? Lover, or whatever I am to you,"
"Please do not make me choose," He pleads taking my hands in his, his eyes begging and pleading with me,
"I'm sorry,"
The soup is warm, burning even as it gushes down my throat and satisfies my usually empty stomach, "Thanks, are you going soon?"
"I might have to,"
"I'll be here, it's not like I've got anywhere to go," I sigh as he smiles at me,
"You can come with me,"
"But won't they-"
"Let them find out,"
A smile appears on my face and I hug him tightly, not wanting to let him go, "So I can come?"
"I couldn't concentrate if you weren't there, I'd be worried about you the whole time,"
"I'll be with you then,"
"Always," He nods,
"Always," I agree, him pressing his lips to my forehead
