I stood on the sidewalk outside the club next to Hoseok as we waited for his car service to pick us up. I was mindlessly looking around when I saw Jin leaving the club and starting to walk toward the parking lot. I remembered the promise I'd made to Namjoon and decided then to try and talk to him since I was buzzed and felt brave.

"Hey!" I shouted in Jin's direction as he turned to walk away.

Jin turned around to look at me, his face void of emotion. "Yes Emmie? Did you need something?"

"Yes, wait just one second." I turned to Hoseok and said, "I'm going to talk to him really quick, I'll be right back."

"Are you sure?" Hoseok asked. "Jin has been sulking all night and is probably in a bad mood."

"I promised Namjoon I'd try to get along with him," I reminded him. "I'll be fine and if I'm not I have a container of mace and one hell of a right hook."

Hoseok smiled and sighed. "When the car gets here I'll tell the driver to wait, take your time. I'll be here if you need me."

"Thanks Hobi," I said, kissing him on the cheek before turning toward Jin, who was standing as still as a statue. I walked as steadily as I could, seeing as how I drank one-fourth of my weight in alcohol, and stopped in front of him. "Thanks for waiting."

"No problem," he said. "What is it? I have rounds on the surgical unit tomorrow and I need to get some rest while I can."

"This won't take long I promise," I insisted.

"All right, I'm listening," he replied calmly.

"I know this is going to sound really crazy, especially since it's coming from me, but I wanted to tell you something," I said.

"What's that?" Jin asked, stifling a yawn.

"I can't believe I am about to say this out loud, but I am sorry Jin. I'm sorry for how I talked to you when I first saw you tonight. I was rude and acted like a bitch and I want to apologize."

Jin blinked in surprise and after studying my face for a brief moment, he flashed a crooked smile. "You called me Jin."

"Well, you asked me to."

"I know, but I really didn't think you would," he said. "The way you looked when you first saw me I really thought I'd be 'the bad Seokjin' to you forever."

"Believe me, I'm surprised right now myself," I replied. "So did I."

"I understand. I know I deserve your anger, it's okay. Besides, you weren't that bad. Hell, I think after the way I used to act toward you I should be thankful that you didn't say anything worse."

"Well you definitely weren't the nicest person in the world when we were kids," I stated. "And I'm saying that as politely as I possibly can."

"I know I wasn't. Thank you for your apology though, it means more to me than you realize," he said, smiling. "I appreciate it even though I don't deserve it."

"Well before tonight I would've agreed with you but after talking to Namjoon I'm sure that's not true," I said.

"You two talked about me? What did he say?" Jin asked, his brows furrowed.

"Nothing bad, I promise. He just said that you were a good guy now and that I needed to give you a chance to prove it."

He smiled and sighed deeply before saying, "I'll have to remember to thank him for saying that."

"You really should, otherwise we probably wouldn't be having this conversation," I answered.

The night air stirred around us and a light breeze picked up, drifting his scent toward me. I breathed him in and sighed. He smelled amazing and whatever cologne he was wearing made me feel hazy for the briefest of moments.
