"What time is it?" I called out anxiously while peeking at the roast in the oven. "Shouldn't everyone be here by now or at least on their way?"

Namjoon walked into the kitchen and I could hear him chuckle as he moved closer to me. "Emmie, relax, everyone will be here on time and tonight will be perfect." He stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my frame before dropping a kiss on the top of my head. "It's not like you haven't met my friends before."

"I know but with the exception of Jungkook, Jin, and Taehyung I haven't seen them since the night we met. Jimin and Yoongi text when they can but we've not had time to really catch up."

"Well they already like you," he offered. "You even managed to pass Tae's 'vibe check' so tonight will be great."

"Yeah he really was sizing me up in the beginning wasn't he?"

"Taehyung is like that with everyone. He's just protective of his friends and family. If he likes you, he'll always like you," Namjoon explained.

I wondered if he'd still like me if he ever knew I'd made out with Jin after agreeing to go out with Namjoon, I thought to myself. I shook my head lightly to banish the thoughts that were creeping in. "I know you and I have only been seeing each other for two weeks but tonight is the first 'cooking for your friends' friend date. I just want it to go well."

He spun me around and wrapped me in his arms, resting his hand at the small of my back. "You're so tense, baby, you need to relax. The guys are happy to get to see you again and they're going to love whatever you make them, which smells incredible by the way."

"You promise?"

"I promise. I don't know what you're making in here but my mouth is already watering," he said, planting a tiny kiss on the tip of my nose.

"Thank you, Namjoon," I said, standing on my tiptoes to lightly peck his lips. "So, you're calling me baby now, huh?

"Is that a problem?" Namjoon asked. "I can call you something else if you don't like it."

I smiled at him and answered, "No I like it. It's cute."

"Good," he said, smiling and his dimple appeared. "Did I tell you Jimin is bring a girl with him tonight?"

I laughed and said, "No, you didn't. If I had to guess it's probably one of his student fan girls from his dance academy."

"Well that would be a welcome change," he laughed. "He's dated some pretty crazy girls so this one can't be that bad."

"If you say so," I chuckled. "Well the more the merrier, I made plenty of food."

"So, can I help with anything?" he asked, releasing me and glancing at the counter full of food.

"Ha, no way, step away from the stove," I said and he laughed. "I don't think you want to be the reason your house burns down."

Namjoon barked out a laugh and said, "Hey I'm not that bad." Thankfully at that moment the doorbell rang. "Saved by the bell," he laughed. "I'll go get it."
