Y/n's POV
I am sitting on a tree branch of the big tree known as the Dragon Queller. I looked at the bottle of pills that Zhongli gave me. I took one not too long ago so that I could be free of my former God's voices. I needed some peace and some time to think. Especially after seeing Xiao like that.. it hurts me to see him so fragile and open. According to him, I'm the only person that sees the other side of him. His innocence has been taken away from our former god, but there's still a part of him that has that innocence that he simply doesn't know.
I remember the day I met him. I remember embracing him every day after we get locked in our cell.. well it decreased over time since he became colder. But he still has a heart.
"It's a beautiful day today, might I inquire what got you so down?" A green bard created a wind current to glide to the tree branch that I am on.
"Well, if isn't Mr IGetDrunkAllDay."
"Y/n! You wound me!" Venti, the Anemo Archon known as Barbatos, placed a hand across his chest acting hurt from my joke.
"Yea yea. What are you doing all the way here in Liyue?"
"Ah, the winds told me there was trouble afoot. Tell me Y/n, is it the voices?" Venti summoned his lyre and started plucking some strings as he speak.
"... so.. you figured."
"It isn't my first time seeing one of you like this, you know. Have you heard the story of a boy being saved by the melody of a flute?"
"Saved by a musical item? Never heard of it."
"Have you been living under a rock!?" Venti stopped strumming his lyre as I gave him a death stare at his comment.
"Ahem, please accept my sincere apologies. I had expected you to know of this true story. After all, it is one of your close companions."
"Uh-huh.. so a boy that I know who is close to me was saved by a song."
"Mhm! Wanna hear the story?"
"I don't have a choice, do I?" Venti giggled as he strums his lyre to tell the tale.
"Just this once, I'll give you the short story. How about that?"
"That would be much appreciated."
"I saved Xiao from being consumed by his karmic debt with the melody of my flute." ... wait did Venti seriously summarise his absolutely long story in one sentence!? I did not see that coming...
"The bard can speak short huh. What a surprise."
"Ehehe.. that's because I'm on a run!" Venti leaped off from the branch.
"On a run? From what!?" I inquired but he already ran off like the child he is at heart.
In mere moments, another arrived. He stood at the roots of the tree with his arms folded. Ohh... Venti's running from this man since he mentioned his name.
"Tch.. how dare he.." Xiao mumbles under his breath. Unfortunately for him, I heard every word.
"Hey, Xiao."
