Y/n's POV

Xiao brought us back to Wangshu Inn and into his room where the Almond Tofu still sits. He plonked me on his bed before sitting next to me.

"Why'd you bring us here? I thought I said I'd like to clear camps?" I asked Xiao.

"You're going to overwork yourself if I don't stop you now." He flicked my head.

"Ouch... Hmph." I sat up folding both my arms and legs. Xiao was amused by my reaction.

"You act like a kid." He exasperated.

"Do not! Besides what do you know about kids?"

"They're annoying."

"So you're saying I'm annoying?"

"Yes."

"Hmph. I never asked to be here." I pout.

"...You're cute..."

"Hmph. Wait- what did you just say?" I had assumed that he would say something mean but that was unexpected.

"Nothing."

"Aww! Don't deny it!" I moved closer and nudged him.

"I'm not denying anything." Let's have some fun, shall we?

"Fine." I ruffled his hair and played with his long strands of hair. How about a braid in his hair?

"What are you doing?"

"Just playing with your hair."

"Sigh.. you are a child.."

"And you're pretty." I teased.

"... There's only one Adepti here who's pretty and that's not me."

"I- Wh- You're out of your mind!" He pushed me away.

"Hey! Wait a sec! Lemme do something! Don't move!" This braid must be pretty!

"Ugh.. Whatever.." Xiao sat quietly as I worked on the little secret.

"... Something about you just makes me want more.." I muttered out accidentally. Xiao's ear reddened, and pink covered his cheeks.

"More..? Of what?" Xiao asked.

"Eh!? Did I say that out loud!?" I almost loosened my grip that held onto his braid.

"Yes."

"I- urh- shut up. Let me focus." Why does it feel like my cheek is getting hotter? Ugh! That's so embarrassing.. I took out a hair tie and tied the end of his braid. "There! Now you are prettier! Hehe."

"Prettier? No. I'll never be. I don't even know what you did." Xiao argued.

"Sigh. Just accept my opinion that you're pretty! I'll grab a mirror for you as long as you swear to not take it off."

"I don't have a choice do I?"

"No." I grinned.

"Fine, I won't take it off this instant. But in the future, I will. How about that?"

"Alrighty! Contract accepted!" I ran out of Xiao's bedroom and out to the reception desk. Xiao doesn't have a mirror so I've got to borrow one.

"Hey, Verr Goldet! Could I borrow a mirror for a few minutes?"

"Sure! Here." She hands me a hand mirror and I dashed back to Xiao's room. Whipping out the mirror at Xiao's face, I let him take it from me.

"Sooo??" I asked.

"... It's.. not bad..."

"Accept it! You're pretty!" Xiao rolls his eye.

"Never in a millennial." He flicked my head.

"Alright. A millennial you say? If we live for another millennial you must accept that you're pretty!"

"N-"

"You can't take back your words!" I interrupted him before he could argue.

"Tsk. Whatever."

"Hehe. Well.. See you!" I dashed out of his bedroom and out of the window in the living room. This is my chance to get out and obliterate camps!

"Wait! Y/n!" He shouted back. As I descended from his window, he caught me and we appeared on the streets. Unfortunately for us, it was one filled with people. It was oddly crowded today.

"Don't ever do that! What were you thinking!?" Xiao shouted at me after putting me down. The crowd practically dispersed at his raised voice.

"I can handle myself, Xiao. Besides, I have a wind glider. Have you forgotten?"

"Where do you think you're even going?"

"To do our job of course."

"Sigh... You are done for today. I'll take over for the rest of Liyue."

"What! No!"

"I'm serious Y/n. You've been around half of Liyue already. That's a lot of camps obliterated by you in one day. Leave the rest to me."

"Oh come on! I have energy! I'm not tired!"

"That isn't the point!"

"My my. What's with the tension here?" A familiar voice rang.
