Jaehyun lay asleep on the couch, a book lay on top of his chest. A tall man approached him with quick steps. "Han Jaehyun" He hissed while pulling the guy up by grabbing onto his collars. Gaining his consciousness, Jaehyun looked at the man standing in front of him.
"Oh..its Baekkyung. Hey br-"
Baekkyung slammed his fist on Jaehyun's cheek, throwing his body on the floor.

"What was that for?" Jaehyun woke up placing his hands on his lips which were now bleeding.

"The girl. Why did you lock her in the basement? Do you think you are in a position to be playing games right now?"

Jaehyun sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. " I'll get her out. Gosh, why are the both of you at my throats. Even Seojun hyung said the same thing hours ago."

Baekkyung's gaze darkened as he eyed his brother. "We are the same age yet you are such an immature piece of shit. How could you treat a woman like that? You almost ended up killing her and yet instead of begging for forgiveness you lock her up in a dark room with no light?"

"I get it." The smile from Jaehyun's face disappeared as the realization hit him.

"After the way father treated mom, you...you really..." Baekkyung clenched his fists and walked up the staircase, towards his room.
"You're always such a disappointment."

Jaehyun exhaled heavily. Fixing his hair and clothes he grabbed the keys to the basement and went inside. It was awfully quiet. "Ms. Bae Rona?" He whispered while approaching her bed. He stopped in front of the bed, his gaze falling on her motionless body while she lay fast asleep. Switching the bed side lamp on, he knelt down beside and quietly stared at her face. It was amusing how she could sleep so peacefully despite being tied to a bed inside a dark room by an unknown stranger.

"Cute..."

He noticed the tear stains on her cheeks and the sweat droplets on her forehead. She must've struggled for quite a while to free herself. Quietly, he unlatched her legs from the chains. Coming back to her, he softly wiped the tears from her face with the sleeves of his jacket. He was about to wake her but stopped himself. He could see the fatigue and weakness plastered all over the pale girl's face.

"I guess I'm carrying you again."

Swiftly sliding his arms beneath her body, he scooped her up in his arms. Her head softly leaned against his chest, he tightened his hold on her and walked out of the basement. While he walked up to the guest room, he gazed at Rona's face.

What was he going to do now?

Sending her back was too dangerous for their family but there was no reason to keep her with them any longer. His head hurt with all those thoughts. Why did he have to go and mess with the wrong person.

He really was a disappointment. Always.

Setting Rona on the soft mattress of the bed, he adjusted her head and made her sleep comfortably on the pillow and pulled the blanket on top of her. Seating himself on the couch placed at some distance from the bed, he pulled out his book and began to read. A soft breeze entered the room from the windows.

The mischief no longer could be seen in his eyes. Now all his eyes had was a strange emptiness. A side of Han Jaehyun no one would ever see. A firm, cold expression on his face and his lips tightly pressed against each other.

They stayed like that for the entire evening. He stayed with her while she slept without moving even once. It was the least he could do. Maybe her subconscious would find some comfort if someone was there with her. She probably was scared and tired.

Shifting his gaze back on her, Jaehyun let out another deep breath.

"What do I do now?"
