Fear the Light

A Break

Unlog:

I was laying down on the ground with my hand in the air

It was nice to finally have a break but it always ends too quickly.

I got up now sitting down as I stared at the wall before finally get ready for the new day

I grabbed my clothes and went outside it was brighter then normal today the sun look some what different, I'm sure Im just tripping

I walked to a near by bus stop and waited there for a while until the bus came

I got on with a few other people behind me with some of them staring at me and I wouldn't blame them

The uniform was always noticable, I sat down by my self and let the bus take me to the new stop

I finally got to the site and walked up to the gate and scanned my key card as I walked in to the door having to scan it again

I walked down the halls greeting my coworker and then I ran into Jerry he was a head researcher

"I-im sorry I didn't see you there" I said

"It's alright, I've actually been meaning to talk to you, here come with me" he waved for me to follow him, so I did

We went into a small room to talk

"So about that idea you had about the contaminate, I want to tell you that that was a brilliant idea we tried it out and it worked very well so I just wanted to congratulate you for have a great mind"

"O-oh thank you sir but I just wanted to help out with-"

"Real fast can you take off the helmet I know it apart of uniform but I wanna see you're face when we are talking, if that is alright with you"

"O-o-oh I mean..." I said looking down "s-sure I can do that" I said removing my headwear

"I just wanted to help with things around here more, ya know"

"Yeah I get ya but that the main thing I wanted to say, and that we have another mission for you" he said giving me a file he was holding in this hand

"We don't give out assignments like this to any regular guard, so we trust that you'll be able to handle it" he said patting me on the shoulder and walking out the room

I look though the folder and thought " me why me I half a researcher a-and half a guard?! Why would they want me?"

Regrade less I was on the clock so I put my helmet back on and left the small room.
