Arlo
I woke up with a big reminder that I should never drink again. I didn't bother opening my eyes as the thudding in my head seemed to be more then enough to deal with.
The sheets where warm wrapped around my small body and I couldn't recognise the source of heat that seemed to be pressed up against me. My right eye creeps open very slowly as the sun blinds me until i readjust to the new light. My arm moved up to rub my eye which felt sticky from the leftover makeup. My hand stopped and my eyes bludged instantly as I realised that this was not my room, nor my apartment. I lifted up the sheets and stared down at my naked body and the night seemed to fade back into my memory. I lifted myself off the bed and looked down at the sleeping boy next to me.I groaned to myself at how he somehow still looked perfect while sleeping.
Regret was the biggest thought on my mind in that moment and I knew I had to go. I slid out of the bed and tried to locate all my clothes. I cussed myself out as I could only find my underwear and the knee high socks I was wearing last night. I quickly picked up a random shirt off the floor and slipped it on.
It was Timothée's and the memory of him originally taking it off his heavenly body invaded my mind. I eventually found my patterned dress and slipped it over my head.
It didn't look great but looking presentable wasn't necessarily my top priority. I found my phone laid on the floor and quickly went to check the time. A couple of messages lit up my lock screen but I avoided them and made it my mission to get home without being spotted.
My parents where coming today and having dinner with Sawyer and I. The only problem is, That it's currently Twelve in the afternoon and my parents arrive at Two. I quickly gathered all the things I could find that were mine and made my way to the door. Sawyer told me coming to this party would be a mistake due to the hungover state i would consequently be showcasing to my parents and honestly, i should've listened to her, because this was becoming more then I could currently deal with.
I looked behind me one last time and stared at his beautiful sleeping state. I knew nothing should've happened last night but I couldn't get the details out of my mind. The way he touched me and made me feel safe almost had me crawling back into his soft bed.
He squirmed and my brain shook itself back to reality and I quickly opened the door and made a bee line out of his apartment. As soon as I got to the front door I became very aware that I did not have my shoes nor did I know where they were. I quickly sped around the apartment towards the couches to look for any pair of shoes, whether they were mine or not. I avoided the other sleeping people that happened to look way worse then me and crept around their sleeping heads. I couldn't find my boots but my eyes locked onto a pair of monster slippers.
I wiggled my feet deep into the shoes and slowly regretted everything about last night. I was about to walk out onto the streets of New York with comically sized shoes that where covered in grey "monster" hair, a Dorothy dress and a shirt that doesn't match.
I pulled myself together, took a deep breath and opened the door to the outside world.
When I got home I walked past and avoided a clearly annoyed Sawyer. When she took in my appearance she laughed and pointed down at my shoes.
"What happened to you?" Sawyer asked. Before I could answer Troye came speeding out of the kitchen towards us with a grin on his face.
"What are you doing here?" I asked accusingly. He smiled knowingly and walked closer to me taking in my deathly appearance.
"I wouldn't miss the Enger family reunion for the world, but don't change the subject, What happened to you?" He said with a knowing smirk which only made me want to slap it straight off his face. "Because I heard that someone slept over at a certain curly brunettes house." I hid the small smile on my face that appeared from remembering the events of last night.
"I don't have time for this. I'm gonna go have a shower. Sawyer can you go to the shops and get some food for mum and dad?" She nodded at my request and I walked up the metal stairs to my room. Troye's heavy footsteps echoed behind me but I ignored it. I tried to close the bathroom door behind me but Troye shoved his body into the door frame. I hesitated to open it but eventually let him in.
"Don't try and get out of this." He said as I walked over to the toilet. I dropped the lid and sat down exhausted. I ran my hands through my hair and felt the oil build up from my sweaty activities. "So how was it?" I looked up at him and shook my head trying to hide my obvious smile. "clearly good." He said with a grin.
I groaned and dropped my head back into my hands. "It can't happen again." I said bluntly. Troye laughed and lifted himself up onto the bathroom counter. I watched as he swung his legs so innocently observing my behaviour.
"Why not? He clearly makes you happy." I bit my lip and closed my eyes ignoring what he had just said.
"It can't happen again." I said calmly, with a shrug of my shoulders. He held his hands up defensively and dropped off the counter.
"I'll leave you alone with all your thoughts." He said simply with a cheeky smile. I stuck my finger up at him and got up to lock the door once he left.
I washed away the memories of last night with the hot water that ran down my body. My chest was marked with hickeys and that only caused more memories to resurface.
I wanted so desperately to spend the night with him again but I know I can't. It wouldn't be fair on him. He clearly likes me but I'm not the right person to commit to that. Commit to him, commit to his world.
It can't happen again.
