the calm before the storm

Timothée

"Lets go out." I said enthusiastically. I watched as Arlo moved her head and looked up at me with her gorgeous eyes. A smile spread on her face and she smiled at me happily and willingly.

"Okay." She said simply. I didn't actually expect her to say yes seeing as though it was still light outside so I become rightfully excited. I laughed and showered her with kisses as she laughed under my touch as I attacked her on the bed. Seeing her squirm and laugh made me feel as if I was the luckiest man in the world.

We got ready and walked hand and hand out of her front door. As we got to the glass doors that stepped out onto the busy street in New York I felt Arlo hesitate as she looked down at our joint hands. I smiled at her knowingly and separated our warm hands.

"It's okay." I said happily to her. She looked up at me with a glimpse of sadness in her eyes.

"I'm sorry." She said quietly. I smiled at her knowingly and pushed open the doors. Instantly the bombarding noises of the city penetrated our ears.

"So what do you wanna do?" I said. She smiled at me cheekily and rushed off ahead of me. I rolled my eyes but quickly skipped towards her to catch up. I followed her happily as she weaved through the busy pavement with such ease.

We ended up in a random ice cream shop and I watched in awe as Arlo paced up and down the array of flavours available. I studied her face as she made her decision and I couldn't help but smile. She looked so happy and amazed at all the options. Her eyebrows and mouth moved in syncs as she weighed up all her options. I've never seen her more focused in my life.

She swiftly walked up to the counter and ordered our  choices. She happily accepted the ice cream into her hands and turned around quickly to face me. She smiled at me so happily as she thrusted the cup straight into my direction. I couldn't help but laugh at her excitement over ice cream.

"Whattt?" She asked as she drew out the word cutely.

"Nothing." I said shaking my head "I just hope one day you'll look at me the way you look at ice cream." She laughed and walked over to me.

"Trust me I do." She said as she scooped a spoon into her mouth almost seductively. I raised my eyebrows at her and reached my hand to her waist pulling her up against me. She giggled as a response and I couldn't help but smile.

She looked into my eyes with her huge sparkling orbs that seemed to convince me on everything she has ever said. I leant down and let out lips meet. She tasted like caramel and vanilla and It was addictive.

"We should get ice cream more often." I said. She smirked at me and tilted her head to the side exposing her neck. We sat down face to face at a nearby table and forgot about all our anxieties and worries of the world. All that mattered was each other.

"We should do this more often." She said pointing out at our surroundings. It felt good being out with her. It felt good pretending to be just ordinary people. But nothing ever lasts.

It was almost liked she jinxed it because in a couple of hours ours our whole worlds came chasing down.
