- chapter twenty-six : the betrayal

vendetta's hideout
boss' office

boss' pov

i leaned my back at my black swivel chair and smirked a bit, its time to put some little spice in this case. gwangju's investigators are so fucking dumb, well i expected more about the 'aces'.

fortunately for me, my boys are fast enough to get chaeyoung.

i asked one of my boys to send a letter at gwangju police station, so y'know a little clue won't hurt.

it's a good thing they get distracted for a while, before i can leave gwangju. im planning to leave gwangju a long time now, to forget something and not care what happens next.

if time comes that they knew about vendetta, its time to become selfish.

jimin's pov

we're now sitting inside chief hwang's office, and we were told to come here and wait for chief hwang since he'll be bringing the files in here and show it to us.

we immediately sat up straight when we heard the door open and close.

we heard chief hwang clear his throat as we patiently wait for him to sit down and talk. well im kind of nervous.

i followed every move of chief hwang as he sat down and shut his eyes for a second as he sighed and opened his eyes.

"thank you for coming right away, before i say what i have to say we received a letter from the gang."

chief hwang said as i tilted my head and waits for him to continue. "no sender name, nor address so we cannot trace it.

we speculate that it was either a spy, probably one of my police or a person of vendetta's delivered it here himself or herself.

that person's too lucky we didn't caught him in our surveillance cameras, or no one saw him." he said as i spoke.

"then it must be a mole, there should be a mole in this police station.

it's impossible for a unknown person to get in this police station without being caught." i said as i licked my dry lips.

"yes i do agree, it might be one of us or one of you." we just nodded at chief hwang's words. we cannot deny the fact that we're all suspects here.

"the letter says that 'what the past owed, should be paid by the present.' any thoughts? before i tell the main reason why we're here."

chief hwang said, "are there any debts son family or the parks had?" jennie said as i looked at her. all i know is mom and dad can't even borrow money from us, so it's impossible that they had a debt.

well, you never know. maybe? maybe not. i shrugged at her while jennie looked at jungkook, "im obviously a jeon and i never know what auntie and uncle's business is, we know that they just have a trading company" he said as chief hwang nodded.

"wait, the letter's not accurate at what jimin said to us the day there was a fire at the univ." namjoon hyung said as i began talking.

"yeah, i forgot about that." jisoo said as they waited for me to speak. "weeks, like two weeks before son chaeyoung's murder.

my sister witnessed couple of black clothed people killing someone at buamdong-gil alley." chief hwang nods as he realizes my point and i spoke again.

"she said she saw them see her, and she might've left two things that resmbles her. her key chain and the red velvet cake." i said.

"so, we knew about the gang's name and it is vendetta. at the same time we knew about they're killing records and they were few black clothed people that was taken by our cctvs."
