Lyra and Harry darted through the corridors at top speed. It was forty minutes past curfew and they had seen Mrs. Norris eyeing them from behind a suit of armor. The longer they ran for the louder the sound of filches scuffling feet became.

"How the bloody hell does he keep catching up to us?" Lyra said, breathing heavily.

They ran through a short cut, finally arriving at the entrance to the Gryffindor Common room.

"Gilly Water." Harry breathed to the fat lady.

"Late again I see..." She groaned, her portrait opening for the to step in.

When they walked into the common room they found Hermione and Ron both sitting in the chairs nearest to the fire.

"We were wondering where you were!" Hermione exclaimed.

"Oi, Invite me next time will you." Ron said gesturing at the two of them holding their brooms in hand.

"Sure Ron," Lyra said, with no intention of inviting him to fly with her and Harry. Its not that Ron was a bad flyer, he could be pretty great with a bit of practice, but he just wasn't quite at the level that she and Harry were.

They had zipped around the quidditch pitch in the dark, expertly avoiding each other. They had even accurately passed a quaffle back and forth with little visibility.

"Whatcha workin on Mione?" Lyra asked, Plopping down on the couch next to the other girl.

"Just some research."

"For?"

When Hermione did not respond Lyra rolled her eyes and looked over to Ron, who was playing a game of wizards chess against himself.

"You want an opponent?" Lyra said, bored and eager to use her brain.

"Sure."

She and Ron reset the board and began to play i silence. Harry had dozed off in the seat next to Lyra and Hermione with her head in a book.

After Lyra had beat Ron twice, he decided it was time for bed. See it was easy for her because she could predict most of his moves by simply looking at his face. Hermione and Lyra followed suit, gathering their things and beginning to head up to the girls dorms.

"Wake Harry and bring him to bed will you?" Lyra said to Ron, as he was ready to get up and leave Harry asleep on the couch.

When she got to her dorm, Lyra grabbed her pajamas and headed to the bathroom.

As she showerd, she thought over the events of the day. It had been weeks since the first task yet it was still the topic of many conversations around the castle. Just that morning at breakfast, the daily prophet had been sent out with an article by Rita Skeeter, where she had written her suspicions about Harry and Lyra being in love as fact. Hermione appeared scandalized by this article, she had said it was a "Gross invasion of an underaged wizards privacy." Yet Harry and Lyra had just laughed about Skeeters choice of word, "Budding teenaged romance," Lyra laughed, "How is it supposed to be teenaged romance if she thinks you're twelve Haz?"

Lyra also thought about how she missed her brother. They were on good terms as always but it was hard for them to find time to catch up with how much work they both had. Between school, friends, and the tournament they hardly ever saw each other.

By the time Lyra was out of the shower, she was exhausted. She flopped onto her four poster and fell asleep almost the second her head hit her pillow.

============

The Next evening, Harry, Ron, and Lyra were sitting in some window seats in the common room. Lyra was observing the stars through the window and completing her divination homework with ease. It was predictions of her dreams in the next week. It came naturally to her, she would simply picture a specific night in the coming week and her hand would simply write out a sentence summary. Lyra giggled, listening to harry and Ron make up fake predictions for their own homework.

"Can't you help us L?" Harry whined, dropping his head heavily onto her shoulder.

"I told you already, I can only see my own dreams. Although I may be able to see some of the future I cant read your minds." She said playfully pushing his head towards Ron.

Harry let his weight whole body weight fall over in the other direction right into Ron.

"Oi, I'm working here." Ron said shoving Harry. Now Harry lay with his face smooshed into the table.

"Look into the future!" He said in an almost perfect impression of Professor Trelawny, "Broaden your minds!" Ron and Lyra began to laugh when Hermione came bustling through the portrait hole carrying a rattling box.

"What do you have in there?" Lyra asked her and Ron both blindly reaching into the small box. Harry looked at it cautiously, as if he was afraid to know what was inside. Lyra pulled out a pin, with the letters S.P.E.W.

"Spew?" Ron and Lyra chorused.

"No!" Hermione said, clearly offended by their interpretation. "S. P. E. W." She said pointedly, "The society promoting elvish welfare."

"The what?" Asked Harry, now grabbing a pin of his own.

"Our goal is simple," Hermione started, "Help house elves in Britain, and eventually around the world" she added, "to fight back against the unfair treatment they receive from wizards."

Lyra sat with her eyes wide, something about this felt right, but how? House elves were born and raised how would they react when Hermione tried to propose that they should not serve a master. It's borderline offensive to them.

"I like it Mione." Lyra didn't know what overtook her but she began to pin the SPEW pin onto the front of her robes.

Hermione beamed.

"How many people are in this group?" Harry asked, glancing at Lyra strangely as she struggled with her pin.

"Four if you two join!" Hermione said brightly, shaking an empty box in front of them.

"Two sickles for the pins please!"

Reluctantly, with a shove from Lyra, they all took out their money and paid Hermione for their badges.

"Excellent." The brown haired girl said, "Now, Ron, you'll be treasurer, Lyra, You will be our event coordinator, and Harry, you're the secretary so I suggest you start writing everything down."

"Oh lovely," Lyra said smiling, "I love planning parties!"
