Beyonces Pov

"So you've been grocery shopping before?" I heard Onika ask me as I drove her to the biggest Walmart I knew.

"Yeah! I mean if you count me going with my mom as she uses me as free labor then yeah." I said thinking of the last time I went to Walmart, she made me carry all the water bottles.

"Do you go grocery shopping by yourself? Not with your parents or anything?" I asked beginning to park. It was pretty busy, maybe because it was a Saturday.

"My farther is always away in bussiness and my mom.." She trailed off and I turned to her. What about her mom?

"She's not in the picture.". She finished and I was surprised. Practically everyone assumed Onikas parents were together. They were seen as the golden family for awhile.

I wanted to so desperately ask, "Why?" but at the end of the day it wasn't business and I already know Onika has something going on. I can just tell.

"Huh, so you do it by yourself?" I said closing the car door and I watched her tap her chin. "Yeah basically, I do a lot of things by myself."  I pouted at that.

We walked toward the store and I peeked at her. It was a little windy and I watched her curly hair get in her face. Every-time I look at her I swear she gets prettier.

"Atleast you get alone time! Solange is always in my business." I said trying to cheer her up. I bumped her hip with mine and she let out a laugh as she stumbled.

"That's true it just gets a little lonely ya know? I haven't seen my dad in person since last Christmas." She said I whipped my head around.

She hasn't seen her farther in over 6 months?

That must mean she's always alone,—no she has abunch of friends.

"It's not a big deal." She said grabbing a cart and walking into the store.  I followed behind her. How was that not a big deal? I would miss the hell out of my parents.

"So what's first on the list?" I asked. I felt something was off, like the vibe had shifted. I knew she wasn't feeling good.

She handed me a crumbled paper and I read all of the things on the list. "Alcohol? Onika don't tell me you're a drinker..I think rehab is available." I joked and I watched her shoulders shake  from snickering.

"Not the drinking alcohol—this isn't Shameless. I mean the ones for wounds and scars and such." She said and I nodded already trying to locate where that would be.

"Wanna turn this into a competition?" I said wiggling my eyebrows and she looked at me suspicious.

"I'll take a photo of the list,  and whoever finishs their portion of the list first wins." I said challenging her and I knew that boosted her mood because she looked so confident as she gripped the cart.

"I've been in this Walmart before, you wanna try me Knowles?" She smirked and I loved that she was joking with me.

"Oh yeah? Well I've been lost in this Walmart 6 times as a kid  because I wandered off every chance I got. I know this place like I know my own MIND." I said pointing at my head.

"You can't possibly know it that well if you got lost 6 times." She pointed out.

"I'm still gonna win—shorty." I challanged and H watched her smirk.

"Oh yeah? Well listen up fe-fi-pho—"

"You did not." I said and I watched her try and hold in her laugh.
