I swear my heart stopped beating when I heard those words. Usually when you hear those, someone's going to break up with you or tell you they like someone else, but Dan and I weren't dating or going out so it couldn't have been that. I'm not sure whether I was reassuring myself or making it worse.

"What is...this? This thing we have, I mean, I feel something for you but I'm not sure what it is. I'm confused because I don't know if it's going anywhere or whether it shouldn't go anywhere, or whether you have the same feelings. Look, it doesn't matter, forget I said anything." Dan said.

It made me melt inside knowing he had feelings for me but it hurt knowing he was so confused. I liked him too, obviously, and God did I want him to like me back too, but I didn't know whether I wanted him to know in case it spoiled the relationship we already had.

Argh, my head hurts.

"Dan,...I-I..." I spluttered.

"Brooke, seriously, it doesn't matter." He replied.

I stood up and headed towards Leasha and Phil who were sat at the other end of the boat to us, Phil had turned off the engine and we were all just bobbing about on the water. I sat down beside them, leaned my head on Leasha's shoulder and sighed.

"Oh crap, what's up? You only sigh when something's up." Leasha stated. Damn me and my repetitive habits. I straightened my head, fixing my hair and turned to face her.

"I'll tell you at home, it can wait!" I whispered with a smile. Phil turned to look at me with concern on his face. "Chill Philly!" I said a little to cheerily, "We have this weekend to look forward to!" I added in a lower tone so Dan wouldn't hear me. I was really exited about this party, I'd get to see PJ and Chris again and we'd all have a really fun time together and Leasha and I would get to meet some of the guys' friends as well as other YouTubers who were coming. To be perfectly honest I think I may have been a little too exited, but I honestly didn't care. This party was going to be one of the highlights of my entire life.

"Did you bring any food, Phil?" I asked as my stomach made a tiny growl.

"Yeah I think there's some snacks in the backpack by the cabin." He replied smiling.

"Okay, thanks!" I called back, already on my feet and heading to the foody area. I unzipped the bag and saw numerous bags of crisps, Dorito's, Maltesers and packs of Oreos as well as various sweets. I grabbed two packets of Maltesers and a bag of Dorito's and headed back to Dan.

He was sat in the same place I left him in, but with his head leaning on one hand, staring thoughtfully into the distance. I rested my elbows on the railings and opened the Dorito's.

"Want one?" I asked, looking down to see his brown eyes burying into my skull as I ate them. He immediately stood up next to me and dug his hand into the bag, pulling out a handful.

"Could you fit anymore into your mouth, Greedy?!" I yelped, not quite believing how many he could actually fit. There must have been like seven or eight fully-sized chips in his mush at once.

"I probably could!" He replied through crumbs and a cloud of orange powdery dust. I saw this as a challenge. I fished around in the bag for a really big chip and smirked, little dimples forming in my cheeks and my eyes turning a menacing tone. I drove the chip into his mouth and legged it away as he started choking on it.

"Don't die!" I winked looking over my shoulder as I lapped the boat. He swallowed the remaining crisps and immediately gave chase. Despite his hatred for exercise, he was surprisingly fast, catching up to me quickly. He grabbed me from behind, pinning me to him and flung me round, making me dizzy.

"Dan! Stop it, I'm going to be sick!" I joked, laughing and clutching his arms around my middle. "I'm sorry, okay? Just put me down, now!".

He set me down back onto the deck of the boat and spun me round so I was facing him.

"Ha, I win!" He said triumphantly, grinning from ear to ear, the dimples in his cheeks standing out against his gently tanned complexion. I stuck my tongue out in his face and turned around so my back was facing him. I rested my arms on the railings again, feeling the gentle wind in my hair, feeling like the girl in Titanic. I must have subconsciously started humming 'My heart will go on' and swaying slightly, because Dan came up behind me, placed his hands on my waist and hummed along.

"I'm flying Dan, I'm flying!" I shouted, raising my arms out slightly. Soon after we both fell into fits of giggles. "I'm sorry I couldn't resist." I apologised, realising how mortifying that was.

"No, it's okay. It was really funny!" Dan chuckled, "You know, you're so weird but so happy at the same time. How do you do it? I could never get away with being as weird as you in school without getting labelled as the strange kid."

" I was always labelled the strange kid in school, but after a while, I thought how boring would I be if I wasn't? So I stopped giving two shits if people thought I was weird, and just got on with life. And now look where I am, four years on and I'm hanging out with you guys and have an amazing best friend. It was when I was younger I let the shit get to me, but that's a story for another day!" I added cheerfully.

Dan pulled me into a hug and whispered, "These past couple of days have been the best! You and Leasha are literally the greatest things to happen to us!". Phil and Leasha came up behind us, arms around each other.

"Yeah, we love you guys!" Phil added looking at me and Leasha in turn.

"Group hug!" I yelled, pulling Phil and Leasha in.

'They love us....' I thought to myself.

A/N: Sorry if this chapter's really crap, I just wanted to develop the relationship between Brooke and Dan a bit before the party. Big plans!! Hope you all like it even if it is a bit of a filler chapter, thank you for reading this far, it means so much! Love!<3 J x
