Huening Kai always hits the point. At least with words.
But in reality he sucks at speaking and making connections with people around him. Until he signed up for an app called D...

[MINGHAO, 11: 17] Yoo! Ningning, what's going on with you?
[KAI, 11: 18] Hi Min, long time no see/hear! How are you? What's up? I don't have much going on ~at the moment~, I'm just sitting in the lobby of my university.
[MINGHAO, 11:20] Yeah, it's pretty busy right now, huh? With studying and all that. Thought I would check in. I'm doing well so far, and you?
[KAI, 11: 20] Yes, soon exams are announced! >_< Honestly, I should study, but I just don't feel like it. I'm fine too, so at least I tell myself
[MINGHAO, 11:29] So you're not doing so well?
[KAI, 11:30] I do, don't worry:3 What about you, are you still visiting your parents in Hong Kong?
[MINGHAO, 11:32] Yes, one more week. That's why I had to text you 😆 so I don't forget my Korean. What else is going on with you today?
[KAI, 11:34] My sister maybe wanted me to go see a movie with her and her boyfriend, but I don't know yet. You?
[MINGHAO, 11:47] Hey, Kai. I just remembered I found an app a few days ago that might interest you.
[MINGHAO, 11:47] It's a dating app and before you judge. Better check it out first, okay?/😝
[KAI, 11:50] Oh no where are you going to lead me, poor little boy, with your dark machinations :( Have you tried it or why are you suggesting it to me?
[MINGHAO, 12:34] Suuuure😈 Someone always has to try everything 😉 But I thought, so you're not forever alone, you should give it a try
[KAI, 12:36] Oh dear... okay, well... what's the name?
[MINGHAO, 12:42] I'll send you the link later! I have to help my mom 🙄

With a smirk, Huening Kai put his smartphone back in his pocket, put the cap back on his light blond hair and rose from the seating area. Glancing around the lobby of his university, he shouldered his backpack and tossed the energy drink he had been drinking into the trash can next to him.
He made his way home, again taking his time. Especially because he enjoyed the light breeze and the reverie.
Precisely because he was coming up with new ideas for his essays while walking.
Those he wrote since years, uploaded them to his blog on the Internet. Sometimes he wrote about philosophical topics, sometimes he criticized people's characteristics. In the meantime, he had also found some readers. People who loved his texts and commented around the clock or praised his writing style. And he had no idea how he had found such appeal.
Of course, he had sometimes thought about what it would be like if he could make a living as an author. But not many people bought books by a writer who only wrote essays.
When Kai finally turned in to his house, he saw his sister's boyfriend pull into the small parking lot on his bright red moped and take off his helmet a moment later. So with a soft smile, Kai headed for his front door, already taking the key out of his backpack and jingling it lightly.
"Hey, Hyuka!" greeted Choi Yeonjun to the blond-haired boy, hanging his helmet on the handlebars and trotting to the front door. "Did you just come from the university?"
With his long legs, Kai was a proud 183 centimeters tall, he climbed the small steps to the entrance as Yeonjun was already catching up with him. Concentrating, Kai put the key in the keyhole and looked over his shoulder. "Hey, Yeonjun," he greeted him with a smile, almost seeming a little off, and his reactions were also taking time, so he nodded slowly. "Yeah, I have a free remaining day for now."
"If you had said something, I could have come and picked you up," Yeonjun said, rubbing his right hand through his raven hair, his usually full lips twisted into a smile.
It would have been no problem for him to pick up his girlfriend's little brother.
It wouldn't have even been at his way anyways.
With a jerk, Kai pushed the door open, then held it open for the older boy. "Oh, it's not that far anyway," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "A stone's throw."
Yeonjun shrugged his shoulders, nodded to Kai, and then entered the house, where he was met directly by his girlfriend Huening Lea. With an affectionate smile, he pulled the younger girl into his arms and pressed a kiss to her forehead, while she answered it with a brief twitch of the corners of her mouth.
Kai's sister was a really pretty girl. With thin pink lips, long light brown and straight hair and a pointed nose just like her brother and smallest sister Bahiyyih. So you could relate that with a girlfriend like that, you had to be really proud.
Lea's head then tilted to the side so she could look past Yeonjun to her brother. "Lunch will be ready in a minute, so you don't even have to go to your room."
"It's okay," Kai muttered, leaving his backpack in the dressing room and taking off his cap and shoes, then walking past the couple towards the living room. "I wasn't planning to," he lied.
Lea rolled her eyes, knowing that her brother liked to avoid family events, and opened her mouth to contradict her little brother.
"Let it go," Yeonjun relented and put an arm around his girlfriend.
In the background, the Huenings' youngest child could be heard talking loudly to her father in the living room, and when Kai entered the room, they both looked at him as if he had interrupted them in an important conversation.
"Don't feel interrupted," Kai mumbled and saw Bahiyyih turn to face her father with a snap. The 17-year-old was totally going through puberty at the moment and it was really getting on her big brother's nerves.
Boys here.
Parties there.
As if there was nothing more important in life.
In general, Kai had never really been able to understand his two sisters, but his parents were always of the opinion that he had simply skipped this teenage phase.
