On Saturday, Kai had finally taken the bus to the city, since Taehyun lived in the center. The two were happy to meet up, especially Kai really liked the smaller boy as a friend. He was also glad that Taehyun had taken the rejection so well and even though he had admitted that it was a pity, he hadn't shown any bad mood or anything.

Not even when he greeted Kai at his apartment door, which he had already opened with a broad smile and even stretched out his arms to welcome the blond.

"Hi!" grinned Kai from ear to ear, hugged his friend tightly, already looking over Taehyun into the apartment to look for his cat. "I'm the cat petting service!"

"Hobakie!" shouted Taehyun. "It's for you!"

The mewling of a cat could be heard in the background, and Kai chuckled before entering the apartment.

When the cat approached him, which he had seen in photos many times now, he immediately knelt down to her, making a cute sound. He let her sniff his fingers and then lovingly stroked her head. "You're so cute," he whispered, his eyes positively sparkling.

"Come, everything is already ready in the living room. Coke, water, popcorn, chips," Taehyun enumerated, "anything you want, and Hobak will surely come along."

Nodding, Kai rose to his full height and wandered after Taehyun, not without fixing his gaze on the cat that was indeed coming along to the living room. "You don't live alone, do you?"

"No, with my sister. But she promised to stay out of the house today," Taehyun told him, pointing to the couch. "But I honestly also forgot to tell her that the date just turned into a buddy night." Laughing, the silver-haired man flopped down on the couch.

Embarrassed, Kai laughed and sat down next to Taehyun on the soft couch.

"Sorry," he smiled and scratched his temple. The slightly regretful tone in Taehyun's voice was impossible to miss. "But at least you're living parent-free!"

"It's got some good vibes, too, doesn't it?" Taehyun winked at his peer.

Kai nodded with a lovely smile. "Yes, sometimes I wish I could, too." An uncertain expression stretched across his face. "Then I would grow up."

"Don't you think of yourself as an adult?" asked Taehyun in wonder, reaching for the remote control.

With a shrug of his shoulders, Kai pondered. Because actually, sometimes he really still felt like a kid. "Not really."

Taehyun frowned slightly because they were the same age and he wondered what reason there was for that assumption. "Just because you don't live with your parents doesn't make you an adult. You only become that through the experiences you have in life." He turned on the DVD player and started the first movie of Harry Potter.

"That's true," Kai agreed and nodded, then moved to the back and leaned against the padding. He already knew all the Harry Potter movies by heart, but still loved a marathon. He enjoyed discussing the scenes. And it quieted down, too, as they both focused on the movie, which again completely absorbed them with its magic. But after the fourth movie at the latest, Taehyun had fallen asleep. A few minutes later, Kai's cell phone vibrated.
