SHORT CHAPTER SORRY QUACKITY AND GEORGE ARE HARDEST TO WRITE FOR <3

QUACKITY'S POV
We drove home in silence until Marisa started to speak about Rae, Nick's Mum.
"Rae is really sick. She has cancer, I have their address and I want all of you guys to write letters, they are tight on money right now so I want you all to stay close, if God forbid anything happened, he can stay with us.." we all hum. I turn to Karl, he wipes his eyes and looks out the window, I look in front of us to the middle row with Dream and George. Both of them seeming sad.
I was sad. Just definitely not as the boys were.
I didn't know this boy and we never became close but seeing as my friends were upset it took a tole on me.

It was tough watching my friends be sad about some kid they knew for a week, I think Dream should be the most upset but it was Karl. He has always had the most empathy in all situations and I wasn't surprised to see him crying over Nick's absence. The car ride was long and silent, Karl was shaking so I tried to rub his knee. Only trying to comfort him but to my surprise my hand was slapped away fast.

"Whose sending these letters?" I ask holding my folded up note visibly walking over to the other three crowded around a locker. Karl turns he had two other folded notes in his grip. Obviously Dream's and George's, he raises his hand in a way that makes Dream laugh for some reason.
"What do we have first?"
"We don't even have the same class but you have English," I smile at George in return,
"I'm running late - but here, i'll see you next period!" I say before handing my note to Karl. When I was walking down the hall I heard a familiar voice - George's.
"No you won't!"

"Hey guys I was wondering if we could put some money together to buy Nick a phone. Like I know the letters are cool and all but we haven't seen him since we were kids and wouldn't it be cool to just FaceTime him?" Karl says brightly as always.
"That's fine! How much each?"
"200? My mum said she is fine paying but I feel bad so.." Karl started to fiddle with his fingers, he was clearly anxious about asking us all for money considering it was a pretty large amount - it was understandable to be worried that he would be turned down.

"Fine with me!"
"Yeah It'd be cool to talk to him on the phone,"
"Yeah I'll bring it tomorrow?"

"Oh- Thanks Guys!" Karl's face lit up brightly - his eyes big with joy and his feet tapping the concrete.

"Did he mention how his Mum was last month to any of you?" I asked.
"No he was just saying how he didn't like school, to me at least," Dream said.
"He told me that there were some guys giving him a hard time.." Karl mumbled.
"That kids been through enough" Dream sighed to himself.
"He isn't a kid anymore- he grew up like us" George says while twisting around in attempt to crack his back.
"It's hard to see him as a teenager when I haven't seen him in years,"
