Chapter 9:
I finished my packing, for my trip to America tomorrow. I'm excited about seeing Chase. I've been emailing him the past few days, and he already has so much planned for us to do.
I plugged my phone in to the charger. I plopped myself down on my bed. I let out I giant sigh as I looked at the picture frame on the side of my bed. It was Zoey and I when we were 13. I grabbed the frame and took the picture out. I exchanged it with a picture of Mom, Dad, Anne, Harry and I from graduation day.
I layed the frame on top of my duffle-bag, as a reminder to pack it for my trip.
I rolled over on my bed and pulled the blankets over me. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
"Addie, hun, it's time to leave for the airport." Dad sat on the bed next to me. I got up out of bed and got ready. I grabbed my duffle-bag, and stuffed the picture frame inside of it. I trailed it down the stairs behind me. Dad grabbed it from me and put it in my car. "Dad, why are we taking my car?" I sleepily asked him.
"So we can get used to driving your car. And plus, it's not going to get used for a month and a half."
I slipped into the passenger side of the car. I layed my seat back and suggled up. I moved around and turned the radio on. Under the radio was a little compartment. There was something small inside of it. I reached in and grabbed a little box. I opened it to see a little peice of paper.
"Adds, what's that?" Dad asked me.
"I don't know." I took the piece of paper out, without looking at what else was in the box. The paper read:
Addison,
I know by the time you find this, you might be on your way to the airport, and I'm probably asleep, so I'll write my message on this paper.
I'm glad that you and I had become the best of friends. I was getting tired of all the jerks at school. I needed someone new to hang out with. In this box is a promise ring. Not a promose ring as in, dating, but more of, a promise that you won't find a new best friend in America while you're gone.
I'm gonna miss you a whole lot Addie.
Love you bunches,
Harry (:
I grabbed the box from my lap and saw the ring. It was a pink opal. I smiled as I slipped it on.
We arrived at the airport rather quickly. I got all of my stuff out of the car and checked it in. Dad handed me my ticket and kissed me on the head. I hugged him tightly. "I'm gonna miss you Daddie."
"Don't worry baby girl, I'll see you soon." he reassuringly smiled at me.
I walked in the airport and went through the security check. I found the gate where my plane was departing. I stopped at a Starbucks right by the gate.
"Plane 4812 is now boarding. First class may board the plane first." The flight attendant spoke through the speaker.
I walked over and handed her my ticket. She smiled at me and scanned the ticket. "Have a good flight." she sounded to preppy for my liking.
I sightly nodded at her.
I got on the plane and put my iPod on. I layed my seat back and fell asleep.
"Hun, were getting ready to land. Can you please put your seat up?" A flight attendant named 'Julia' said to me.
I smiled and put my seat up. I was finally in America. I couldn't wait to get off the plane and see Chase, Grandma, and Pap-Paw.
