Chapter 31:

Addison's P.O.V.

"Alex!!" I yelled as loudly as I could, which wasn't very loud. It sounded as if I lost my voice.

Alex walked over and hugged me. Jazmyne smiled at us and waved at me before walking out of the room.

"Hey hun. How have you been? I haven't tlaked to you in forever." Alex smiled as he sat where Jazmyne was.

"Well, before the accident, I was perfectly fine. I'm guesing you heard about everything?" My smile dropped as i asked him.

"No, I wasn't even told about your accident until today. What else happened?" His eyeborws furrowed with confusion.

"Well, the night of the accident my parents were arguing and I went and told them to stop and harsh things were said and my Dad told Mum that he wanted a divorce, so I guess the divorce has already gone through while I was in a coma, and Jazmyne just told me today that my Dad is moving to England." I hated talking about the memories of that night.

He quietly sat there. "So that is what Jazmyne asked me about in the car, on the way here."

"What did she ask you?" Now I was the confused one.

"She wanted to know if she should tell you about your Dad, but she never mentioned it was you and your Dad. She just said a friend's Dad." Alex said as he moved his hand closer to mine. "Addison, I'm really sorry about not talking to you for a while before the accident. I just do't know why I avoided talking to you." By now, his hand was slightly holding mine.

I know me and Alex decided to just be friends, but something felt right about this. Something weird told me this was okay.

Alex slowly moved closer to me, me mirroring his actions. Before we could tell what was happening, our lips brushed against each other. I pulled away quickly, as I heard Mum and Jazmyne walk into the room.

Alex awkwardly pulled his hand away and sat there. "Hey guys." I smiled.

"Addie, hunny, it's almost time for visiting hours to be over, so we all came to say goodnight." Mum said as she looked at me and Alex.

"Oh, Aunt Laura, Uncle Eric, Erica, and maybe Ceecee and Hailey, will come and visit tomorrow." Jazmyne smiled at me.

I smiled back, trying not to show how awkward I felt inside. I hugged Jazmyne and Alex before they left, and it was just me and Mum.

"Addie, is everything between you and Alex alright?" she asked as her face scrunched with confustion.

"No." I breathed out. "Mum, we almost kissed. When you and Jazmyne walked in, we were getting ready to kiss, but I don't know. Mum, something told me it was okay, but part if me knew it was wrong." She sat down next to me on the bed.

"Well, do you want to take it to another level with him, and be more than just best friends?" She asked. I knew this was going to happen.

"No Mum, I honestly don't. Alex is too much of a friend to me. I mean like if things ended badly, then it would make everything awkward. Like hanging out with Jazmyne's family would be awkward because they live next to each other. Hanging out wiht Jazmyne would become awkward because those two are like brother and sister, and everything would just be weird. I couldn't do that." I sighed.

"Addison, just becuase it would make things awkward, should be your reason to not at least try with him." She placed her hand over mine.

"No, Mum, you don't understand. That's not the only reason. I mean I see him as a best friend. And that's it. I couldn't do that."
