╰┈➤ A beeping sound scares me awake. I opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar ceiling. I look over to my right and see a sleeping Steve. I remember the kiss last night.

Did I dream that? Or did it actually happen? No way.

I get up and rub my eyes.

Was it a real kiss? If it was, did that mean that Steve liked me? Or was that just in the moment?

Questions raced through my head. "Morning, Y/n." I hear from behind me. Steve pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Morning." I said to him. His hair was even more messier. "Look about that kiss..." He begins to say.

So it actually did happen. "No it's okay. You just needed someone to be there for you and you weren't in the right mindset. I mean...that whole fight last night with Nancy." I said to him.

He sighs. I really can't read this guy.

Does he regret it? Or did he want it to happen? This is so confusing.

"Yeah. You're right." He says. "Well, i'm gonna go get dressed. See you in a second." I say to him, exiting his room to go get dressed in the bathroom.

╰┈➤ Steve drove us to school. He wanted me to stay with him as much as I could, because without Nancy he would be alone.

I was watching Steve play basketball from the stands. I watched as Billy stole the ball from Steve and then scored a point. "Steve." I heard someone say. Steve turned around and started walking over to the person. He looked up at me and mouthed, "Come with me." I got up and made my way over to him.

We walked out the back exit. As we walked out, I could see that it was Nancy. "What are you doing here?" Steve said to her. "What do you think? Where were you this morning? I missed first period." "I figured Jonathan would take you." "Wha-- what are you talking about?" "Jesus, you really can't handle your alcohol. Uh...you remember going to Tina's party last night, right?" "Yes." "And then what?"

"I remember dancing, and...spilling some punch. You got mad at me because i was drunk...and then you took me home." Steve looked at me and I looked at him. I then remembered the kiss and mentally cringed.

"No, see, that's where your mind gets a little bit fuzzy. That's was your other boyfriend. That was...that was Jonathan." "I don't understand." "It's pretty simple, Nancy. You were just telling it like it is." "What?" "Uh...apparently, uh...we killed Barb and I don't care cause i'm bullshit...and our whole...our whole relationship is bullshit, and...I mean, pretty much everything is just bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. Oh, yeah, also, you don't love me." "I was drunk, Steve. I don't remember any of that." "So that makes everything that you said...it's what? Just bullshit, too?" "Yes."

"Well, then tell me." "Tell you what?" "You love me." "Really?"

A guy comes running out. "Harrington! Dude, we need you, man. That douchebag's killing us. Let's go!" "All right!" "Come on!"

Steve turned back to Nancy, but she didn't say anything. Steve grabbed onto my hand and pulled me back inside. "I think that you're bullshit." He said before going back inside.

We walk together, still holding hands. He sighed, and looked at Billy. I tried letting go of Steve's hand, but he was still holding onto mine. "You got this." I whispered to Steve. He lets go of my hand and looks down at me. I smile and he smiles back. I go back to the stands and continue to watch him play.
