Forest of death [11]

No ones PoV:

As soon as you and your comrades sprinted into the forest Dai jumped down and stopped, putting his hands on the ground.

"Earth style: Earth sensory jutsu." He mumbled, closing his eyes and focusing his chakra into both of his hands.

After a few seconds he looked up at you and Akiko and nodded. You and Akiko nodded as well before Dai sprinted off in another direction. You and Akiko quickly followed him as he led you to a giant tree, on one of the branches you spotted another team, three genin from Amegakure (I think that's it's name?).

"Hang on guys, we need a plan." You said, pulling Akiko and Dai off the branch you were sitting on.

"Yeah, do you have any ideas?" Dai asked, he looked at you and you quickly felt that he was staring at you.

"Uh- yes. Alright, listen closely I won't explain it to you twice." Your teammates nodded. "Okay, first Akiko distracts them while Dai and I set up a trap using Dais Earth style. Then Akiko will lure them over to us and I'll quickly steal the scroll from them with my swift release before we trap them inside of our set up trap." You explained.

"Good Plan, but how are we going to find out which one of them has the scroll?" Akiko said, looking at you with a questioning look on his face.

"Hmm.. hang on." You quickly turned around towards the direction of the other genin before doing some hand signs.

"Swift release: Hearing transfer." You mumbled as your hearing got transferred over to one of the Ame-nin.

"Do you have the scroll, Sasu?" One of them asked, he had a low voice and spoke slowly but clearly.

'I need to memorise their voices.. otherwise I won't know who got the scroll.. but it seems to be some guy named Sasu?' You thought.

"Y-yes.. I have it! W-wait.. y-yeah- it's here! Ah- oh- I-I'm fine!" A guy with a high pitched voice stuttered.

"Good. Don't loose it." The genin that you had transferred your hearing to said, you could tell by her voice that she was a girl.

"Release." You said returning your hearing to your own body.

"Okay, I think I got it." You explained, looking at Akiko and Dai.

"Good, then let's go." With that said Akiko sprinted towards the other squad, meanwhile you and Dai ran off in the other direction to set up a trap.

Dai used earth style to make a giant hole in the ground before quickly covering it up with branches and leaves so that it wasn't visible anymore. As you turned your head around you noticed Akiko sprinting towards you with three genin chasing after him.

"Get back here!" One of them yelled.

'That one has the scroll.' You thought as you shot forward, using the speed from your swift release you quickly grabbed the scroll and before the guy you took it from could notice, he and his squad fell into the trap.

"GODDAMN YOU LITTLE BRATS, ILL KILL YOU WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE." The one you took the scroll from shouted.

"Oh my oh my, I'm sOoO scared now." You joked, putting your tongue out at the guy.

"Come on, we should get going now." Akiko said and jumped away. You and Dai quickly followed him.

As you were on your way back to the tower, you spotted a few people standing on a clearing in between a few trees. You stopped and went a little closer, but still staying far away enough so that they wouldn't notice you.

Three suna-nin and three other genin from another village which you couldn't identify. However, the three suna-nin were Gaara, Kankuro and Temari. You payed close attention as you tried to hear what they were saying, but you were too far away.

Akiko and Dai were sitting on the left and right side of you as you watched the whole scene. Suddenly, one of the genin from the other village threw an umbrella up in the air, when it opened a bunch of needles shot out towards Gaara, attacking him from every side.

Your eyes widened when a shield of sand formed around Gaara, protecting him completely. Once his sand shield was gone again, he picked up one of the umbrellas and looked at the other team with a cold look on his face, but there was something else in his eyes as well, a look filled with bloodlust. You gulped as a cold shiver ran down your spine, your body tensed up and you started to sweat.

Meanwhile, Gaara slowly raised up his hand and sand wrapped around the genin that attacked him, once the sand had fully covered the genin, Gaara balled his hand into a fist and said something.

The sand pressed onto the genins body and fully squashed him, the blood that had mixed together with the sand flew off into all directions. Gaara still had the same look on his eyes.

'He just.. killed that guy- without any hesitation..' You thought. You looked at Dai who was also shaking and sweating like he just saw his dead grandma and when you looked at Akiko, you found him in the same state.

The other genin laid the scroll on the ground in front of Gaara and just as they wanted to run away, sand wrapped around both of them as well, killing them the same way as the guy before.

"We have to go. Now." Akiko said and quickly turned around. You and Dai quickly followed after him without any word.

The rest of the way back to the tower everyone was quiet. You were horrified about what you had witnessed a few minutes ago.

Once you were inside the tower, you laid both scrolls on the ground.

"What now?" You asked.

"Open the scrolls."

"Are you sure-?"

"Yes."

You gulped before slowly opening the scrolls, to your surprise there was a summoning formula on the inside, you threw both scrolls on the ground and smoke appeared. Once the smoke had vanished again, you spotted Natsuki-Sensei smiling at you.

"Natsuki-Sensei!" You yelled and hugged Natsuki.

"Hey there!" He said with a smile on his face.

"You guys did it! And you were quite fast I gotta say, there were only two groups that were faster than you guys. But still, you did great! I'm proud of you! All of you pass and advance to the final round!" He cheered, pulling all three of you into a tight hug.

Once he let go of you again, a door opened and you walked through. On the other side you quickly spotted Kiba and his squad, you shot a smile at them before your eyes landed on a certain someone, who was glaring at you from the other side of the room. Gaara.

You shot a light smile at him as well before walking over to Kiba, Hinata and Shino, with Akiko and Dai following you.

However, what you didn't notice was Gaaras reaction when you smiled at him.

Gaaras PoV

I heard a door opened and turned my gaze to see who had entered the room. It was the girl from before, Y/N. I glared at them as they spotted me and my siblings. I expected them to look at me with fear or hatred in their eyes.. but instead.. they.. smiled at me? My eyes widened and a sudden feeling of calmness and surprise shot through my body, quickly disappearing again.

'What was that..'
