"Explain Y/N.." [5]

After a good 45 minute walk, you, your team and Temari and Kankuro arrived at the borders of Sunagakure.

Everyone had been quiet throughout the entire walk, Akiko and Dai didn't ask how and why you knew the sand siblings, but you could tell by their looks that they'd question you as soon as you were alone.

From a far you spotted a familiar crimson red haired boy standing on the entrance to the village.

The group stopped at the entrance and Temari and Kankuro turned around to look at you and your team as they waited for r/g/n to enter the village.

You tried your best to avoid eye contact with Gaara, since he still had that intimidating look on his face, which made you feel like if you'd look at him he'd kill you.

'It's no use if I would try to talk to him.. he doesn't seem to remember me anyways..' You thought to yourself and looked down, it made you a little sad that he had forgotten about you, but there wasn't anything you could do at the moment.

"Thank you for your help, you may leave now." A sand jonin said that had just appeared next to the sand siblings. He was wearing a scarf or bandage or whatever that was supposed to be around his head, which covered one side of his face.

You nodded and so did your teammates, before all of you turned around and started to sprint back towards the land of fire.

After a few minutes of silence, Dai and Akiko caught up with you and looked at you with a questioning look spread across their faces.

"You have some explaining to do Y/N." Akiko said with an unusual serious tone.

Meanwhile Natsuki-Sensei was travelling in front of the three of you, but you could tell that he was also listening to the conversation.

You sighed before you began to explain everything to them.

"Well.. you see.. I was born in Sunagakure, but I moved to Konoha when I was almost 7 years old- I think I know why.. but I'm not entirely sure." You started to explain.

"You were what?!" Dai asked. You could tell by the tone of his voice that he was surprised.

"I was born in Sunagakure." You repeated.

Everyone was quiet for a few seconds before Akiko spoke up again.

"And.. how do you know those three?" He asked curiously.

"I met Gaara, the one with the red hair, when I was 6 years old and we became very good friends. Mostly because everyone else ignored and hated both of us, well- I don't think they hated me that much I just didn't like them and walked away most of the times when they tried to talk to me, and I know the other two because- well- they're Gaaras elder siblings." You finished answering the question of your brown haired teammate.

You heard a gasp from Dai and turned your head to look at him. "That means- that he threatened his- his elder siblings to kill them?!" Dai exclaimed and you nodded in response.

Another awkward silence fell over your group again, although it only lasted for a few seconds.

"Was he always like that?" Akiko asked with a calm tone, like always.

"No, he wasn't like that back then.. I don't know what happened, but something must've happened that changed him.. I mean, back then people were mean to him, feared him, called him a monster... a freak.." Everyone looked at you in shock. No one said anything.

"So.. similar to how it was with Naruto.." Dai mumbled.

"Hmm.. strange.. and why do you think you had to move?" Natsuki-Sensei asked as he let himself fall back so that he was next to you.

"I don't know.. but I think it was because my elder sister didn't want me to have any contact with Gaara.." You said quietly with a slight hint of sadness in your voice.

Everyone was quiet again. It felt like the entire world was sad. You didn't know why, but there was no sound at all, no birds chirping, no squirrels jumping through the trees, no deers looking for food. Nothing. It was like that for the rest of the day, as soon as it got dark, Natsuki-Sensei and Akiko went to look for a place to stay at for the night, while you and Dai collected wood for a fire.

[Time skip]

After you arrived back at the village, you got tackled to the ground by your blond haired best friend.

"Y/N-chan!!!" Naruto yelled.

"Naruto!!!" You yelled back, pushing Naruto off of you.

"How was it?!" He asked and jumped up and down with an excited look on his face. Before you left you told Naruto about the mission, since you were very excited to finally have a real mission, when you told him he had told you that he'd received a similar mission, but that he and his team would have to escort someone to the hidden mist village.

"It was awesome! What about yours?!" You asked excitedly.

"It was amazing as well! Sasuke was an idiot, like always, but otherwise it was awesome! There was this guy we fought! I think his name was Zabusa, and that other guy that looked like a girl! Oh, and someone named a bridge after me!" Naruto explained, you had to listen closely since he was talking so fast, although over the years you have gotten used to the way he talks.

"Woah, they named a bridge after you?!" You yelled.

Naruto nodded excitedly and you pulled him into a tight hug.

"That's so cool! Congrats!" You congratulated him and he stood there with a proud look spread across his face as his cheeks tinted pink a little.

"Also, I'm starving... let's go eat some ramen! You have to pay Naruto!" You quickly turned around and ran towards Ichiraku, Naruto quickly followed you as well, leaving a very confused Dai, a head shaking Natsuki-Sensei and a chuckling Akiko behind.

"Then, is this like a date, Y/N-chan?" Naruto asked excitedly.

You chuckled. "No, it's still not a date Naruto."
