The only one left

Peter

That night Peter was the happiest he's ever been. He couldn't believe that Michelle actually said yes and they would start looking for an apartment together. It was everything he ever wanted. He couldn't stop smiling when he was thinking what Michelle told him and how her cheeks turned pink when she told him that she loves him, she loves him and she will always choose him. His heart was ready to explode.

That night she stayed to his place and he spend the entire night holding her in his arms and looking at her while she was sleeping. He was too happy to fall asleep. It was around six when Happy called him and he needed him for a spider-man related duty. He didn't want to wake her up, she was sleeping so peacefully, so he left her a note in his pillow under a black dahlia flower - from the other nigh- kissed her on the cheek and left.

Michelle

Michelle wake up early this morning with a happiness in her heart. Last night was probably the best night of her life. She was so happy and she couldn't wait to start her common life with Peter, sleeping and waking up everyday wrapped around his arms. She realized that Peter wasn't next to her and she searched with her sleepy eyes around the room. She saw the note and her heart ache a little while she was reading it.

Good morning my MJ. Happy needed me for a spider-man thing. I will text you as soon as i can... sorry for leaving like that but I couldn't wake you, you were too adorable.

She smiled a little with his note and she knew she couldn't do anything else right now than wait for him to come back. She knew this would be her life since she chose to be with him and she has accepted it, as long as he was coming back to her safe and unharmed.

She got dressed and left room, meeting May in the kitchen.

"MJ!!! Good morning, I didn't know you were staying over, where is Peter?" she smiled at her offering her a warm cup of coffee.

" good morning May, he left early in the morning I think. He said Happy needed him for something spidey related" Michelle said and couldn't stop her voice from breaking at the end. May noticed.

" you will get used to it, you will always be worry for him but you need to trust him that he will be safe, it's what keeps me sane all those years" May said and gave her a warm smile.

" oh I don't know how you do it May, my heart is ready to explode every time he leaves with that suit. I know that what he's doing is important and I'm so proud of him but I don't know... sometimes I wish he wouldn't put his life at risk every single day" May come over the counter and gave MJ a tight hug. Its something she actually needed right now.

" I know its terrifying, but he always comes back. We need to believe that" she said and sat in the chair next to MJ. They spend the morning talking until May had to leave for work. Michelle stayed and waited for Peter to come back, she didn't want to go home without knowing how he is.

It was already afternoon and Peter hadn't call or text her and she was starting to get really worried. She tried to call him twice but it went straight to voice mail. She put herself another cup of coffee and tried to find something to do before she loses her mind. She was watching tv, although her mind wasn't really focus to the movie, when she heard a soft noise from Peters room. She went inside only to find Peter laying in his bedroom floor, all bloody and he was barely moving.

" Peter, oh my God, are you okay? Can you hear me?" she said as she was kneeling next to him, taking his mask off. She shook him over from his shoulders and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Em.." she could barely hear his voice and he tried to stand up but Michelle pushed him back on the floor and put a pillow under his head.

"baby don't move, i..you should go to the hospital" she said as she saw that he had a wound in his chest, bleeding.

"No hospital Em, I cant...I can..i can heal" he mumbled. And she knew that he can't go to the hospital because people would ask questions and they can't risk that again, but he was on the floor barely moving and he was bleeding and she didn't know what to do. She went to the bathroom, took the first aid kit, some towels and she helped him get off his suit. She tried to clean the wound and stop the bleeding.

"Here Peter, can you hold that towel in the wound please until I get you some ice for the bruises?" her heart was breaking as he just nodded too exhausted and hurt to even speak. She run to the kitchen and took some frozen peas to put on his bruises in his ribs.

After a while she helped him get to bed and covered him with his blanket and she was somehow relieved because the wound stop bleeding and he started to look kind of better. She laid next to him in bed, holding his hand and stroking his hair.

" how are you feeling?" she asked when his breathing went back to normal again and he opened his eyes.

" better, im sorry I scared you" he said and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

"what happened today Peter? Who hurt you?" she asked trying to hold her tears. She didn't want to make him feel like he should worry about her too. He was suffering enough already. But she couldn't stop her voice from breaking.

"it was a difficult mission, and I was alone and they were like 9 men but I got them, so its okay"

" no Peter, its not okay, you are hurt. You can't keep going to big missions alone anymore. " he looked at her with an expression she couldn't understand, it wasn't anger but he was definitely sad.

"There is no one left anymore Em. No one. Natasha died, Steve is so old and can't fight anymore and...and Mr Stark.." his voice break and stop talking and Michelle knew that he was about to cry even before the tears start falling on his cheeks. She just held him on her arms and stroke his hair, kissing his tears away with her lips.

"I know Peter, I know...I'm sorry" a few moments later his breathing start to settle and he looked at her with his big brown puppy eyes.

" I'm sorry Em, I don't know what was that..i just.."

"Baby you are tired and hurt and you don't need to apologize. You just had a bad day but now it's over and I'm here okay? So try and get some sleep, you will heal faster. You need rest" she said and kissed him on the lips. The kiss was soft in the beginning and then she kissed him with more force, showing him that way how much she missed him and how much she loves him. When they stopped to catch their breaths he whispered her name. She gave him one last kiss on the nose and pull the covers on both of them.

"go to sleep spidey, I love you"

" I love you too, so much Em" he said and slowly drift off to sleep.
