Big decisions

Michelle

Peter and Michelle's relationship, after what happened with Gwen, was stronger than ever. Peter didn't continue his project with her and he explained to his professor that he wanted to take the class again next semester because of "family issues". His professor let Gwen continue the project alone but he wasn't that considerate with Peter. So he just failed and Michelle hated that but she also was calmer now that Peter was away from this woman. She was still getting kind of annoyed whenever she was seeing Gwen but she had Peter hold her hand tight, showing her that she has nothing to be afraid of. After that day when Peter opened his heart to her, Michelle was more in love than ever. Her heart was filled with Peters voice saying "you breathe, I breathe" and it made her to want to scream with joy. She wasn't sure how she got so lucky and this sweet, curly, adorable guy was hers. But he was...and she was his, unconditionally and entirely his.

The weeks went fast and with the work and studying for the finals Michelle and Peter barely had the time to see their families and friends. They were either working or studying, and the little free time they had during the day, they chose to spend it together, doing things as a couple. So thanksgiving was a blessing for them because they got to spend the day with their families all together. It was the first time Michelle and Peter had guests in their new home and they wanted to make the day perfect for everyone. Michelle spent the morning in the kitchen cooking while Peter was cleaning the house and helping her with the turkey. Everyone they loved was coming, May, Michelle's parents and Happy. The only one was missing was Ned and that's because he got to spent the day with his parents, but he came over late that day to see them and hung out with them. The day turned out to be perfect, everyone loved the food and had fun and that made Michelle's heart fill with happiness.

Late that night, when everyone went home they stay up late, cleaning the house.

"It really was amazing today, wasn't it?" Peter said and smiled at her while he was putting the dishes to the washing machine.

"yeah I loved it. I liked having people over. It felt like we are one of the adults now, you know?" she winged at him and run her hand through his curls.

"I'm gonna take a shower and go to bed. Do you need any help here?" she said

"no no Im finishing with these plates and I'll come to bed too." He smiled at her and kissed on the cheek. She smiled at him and headed to the bathroom. After the long day she just had all she wanted to do is let the hot water run through her body to calm her down, and then sleep in her boyfriends arms.

Peter

As soon as Michelle went to the bathroom Peter picked up his phone and called Ned.

"hey man, what's up?" Ned's voice sounded sleepy from the other side of the phone

"sorry if I woke you up Ned, I just need your help for something."

"sure, tell me"

"can you come with me in a jewelry store tomorrow? I want your help on something" peter said and he lowered his voice so Michelle couldn't hear him. She was still in the shower, Peter could hear the water running.

" What do you want from the jewelry store?"

"I wanna buy something for MJ" he said and he felt his heart beating faster and his lungs were running out of air because he realized that it was happening and he was actually going to do this.

"oh a Christmas gift, that's cool. Yeah let's go." Ned said and he sounded so careless without realizing what his friend was about to do.

"no, not a Christmas gift Ned." Peter paused for a second and took a deep breath.

" I want to buy a promise ring"

The next morning after Michelle left for work Peter got ready to meet with Ned. He was nervous but he knew that's what he wanted. He knew, since the day he met her. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and he wanted to give her something to make his words more real. A promise ring. Something that will show her the love he has for her, and how he actually means it when he says that he needs her in his life, for the rest of his life. He didn't care that they were only 18, he didn't care that they've been together for a year and a half. There wasn't anything he wanted more than her, he wanted all of her, forever. 

He was going to work extra shifts in order to be able to pay for the ring, but he didn't care. She was more than worth it.

After almost two hours in the jewelry shop Peter finally chose a beautiful diamond ring with little white stones on the side and a yellow diamond in the middle. It was more expensive that he thought it would be but he decided that he will use some of the money Tony left him in his will. Peter knew that Tony would have loved MJ and there wasn't a better way to spend that money.

Surprisingly Ned didn't give him a hard time at all. He, instead accepted what Peter wanted to do without questioning him once. They were sitting silent in Peter's cars while he was driving them home. After a while Ned broke the silence.

" so when will you pop the question?" he asked and turned on the ac on the car because it was freezing cold outside.

" umm I was thinking New Years eve? Her parents will be on vacations in Japan and May will spend the day with Bens family, so we will be home alone. To tell you the truth I'm terrified." He heard Ned slightly laughing and he turned around to face him. Hands always on the wheel.

" why terrified Peter?! you know she'll say yes" Ned said and smirked at him

" do i? because I don't know dude, I'm not gonna ask her to go shopping with me, I'm literally about to ask her to marry me some day in the future. I- I don't know"

"Peter knowing MJ , its more likely to say no to you if you ask her to go shopping with you than it is if you propose." Ned laughed and Peter laughed too because he knew how much Michelle hated shopping.

" but seriously don't worry dude, you got this."

"I hope so...I really do."

They arrived in Peters house a few minutes later, Peter parked his car and went upstairs in the apartment with Ned. Michelle was still at work but she was coming home soon so Peter hid the ring in his nightstand under some spider-man related gadgets.

A few minutes later Michelle was home and they all had launch together with Peter turning pink every time she was looking at him.
