Cafe Conversation

You called up Mina and met her at the cafe first to eat, before you both headed back to her house. As you both took a seat the waitress came up and asked what you both wanted. Mina ordered her usual black coffee and you ordered your favorite drink. As you waited for the drinks to return to looked at Mina who was gazing off into the abyss "so... Mina, your family won't mind me staying? " you broke her concentration and she looked back at you "huh? Oh no, they wont mind. My mom said my dad won't be home, he'll be out of town on some business trip to possibly expand the company. So us girls can hang out and watch movies while eating junk food" she sounded so reassuring you just smiled "okay". The waitress brought your drinks "would you ladies like a food menu?" She asked you "yes please" you responded, Mina stared off. You cleared your throat bringing her back "yes I'd love one" she said not meeting the waitresses stare "okay then, I'll be back shortly" the server said before walking away. You just watched her daze off "is something wrong?" You finally asked her. She looked over at you "I'm just worried about how much my father works now. He never sleeps anymore, he hardly eats anything. Hell, he's never even home, that lunch was the first time I seen him in two weeks." You sat there slightly shocked at her honesty "I'm sorry.." was all you could manage. She quickly waved her hand back and forth "no its okay. I get it, he has to pay for my brothers and my college fees. So it's fine, I'm sure it's not going to last forever" she said staring into her black coffee she hadn't touched yet. For a moment you felt bad for her like a real friend and forgot she was a kira suspect, instinctively you jumped over to her quickly and hugged her.
