Why Me?

You and L had fallen asleep after your little fun and woke up to Near lightly knocking on the door "Watari said to come have breakfast". You guys stirred and woke up finally looking over the others naked body with a smile "we weren't suppose to fall asleep L..." You whispered to which he smirked. You both dressed and got out there quickly. When You walked out everything seemed normal "glad they didn't hear us.." you mumbled to your husband who quietly chuckled to himself. "Now then, I suppose that's out of your system.." Watari began. " an odd case came on the news last night of a woman claiming her daughter rose from the dead so to speak." You and L looked at each other confused before looking at near who had shoveled pancakes in his mouth. "It was on one of those trashy fake tv shows, but it is a very random thing to claim on national tv as well.." Near said with a mouth filled with food. "Im going to investigate" Watari said bluntly almost as if he knew you were about to volunteer. You sighed as you let the cabin fever settle in. You and L began to eat breakfast as Near finished his "I'll be getting back to the screens.." he said before walking away leaving you and L alone to eat. You both ate quickly, feeling bad for leaving them alone all night, you joined Near and fast as possible to watch the monitors. "You think it's the thing we talked about before?" L asked you referring to the resurrection note. "If it is...then the God's of the other worlds must be incredibly bored to be continuously dropping these things for humans to get their hands on them." You speculated thinking hard about the possibility.  L noticed you deep in thought "well?" He asked you awaiting you to admit your thoughts. "Just thinking that the Shinigamis must be terribly bored. Although I hadn't the slightest clue where a resurrection notebook would come from, I do however know they exist. " you still speaking as If only to yourself.  He analyzed your words, gestures and tone of voice, enjoying every second of your analytical side. "L I know that look, we have work to do." You chuckled looking at him before excusing yourself from the table, L slapping you on the butt before you walking out. You went to the monitors and sat next to Near, L followed out shortly after "Watari left already to investigate the apparent dead rising." Near said still staring at the screens. You both nodded in acknowledgment and continued watching your screen. You were staring at the sisters screen for hours, her name was Mina Surichido and she was talking to herself like Light used to. "L look!" You pointed quickly startling L and Near "she's talking to herself like Light Yagami used to!" Which intrigued L and Near significantly. "It's obvious what needs to be done ____" L said in a mischievous voice " no..." you bluntly said "you're our only choice, you need to." Your husband pleaded with you "just go to the school for a few days and befriend her.. " he finished his request. "Fine.. once again.. "you pouted.  "I'll have Watari pick up your school uniform and you must go first thing tomorrow morning, get some sleep." L said "you won't be joining me this time... Huh?" You asked him even though you knew the answer. He came over to you and kissed you gently on the lips that tasted slightly like syrup "I can not join you tonight.  Maybe tomorrow my love. Good night for now though." You nodded with a smile and walked into the room to sleep.
