I woke up and stretched out in my bed. I looked at the clock and it was 8 o'clock. I grabbed my phone to text Aidan, but before I could I saw that he had already texted me.
Aidan: Hey beautiful :) How are you feeling today?
Me: Hey :) I'm feeling better. Thanks for yesterday.
Aidan: You want to hang out with me today?
Me: Sure, after church you can come and pick me up or if you want to my parents can drop me off at your house. I still can't drive so it really sucks to plan stuff.
Aidan:I didn't know you go to church. And how about I drive you to church, and then we can go to lunch after and decide there what to do after. What time do you want me to pick you up?
Me: Awh, you're so sweet! And pick me up at 9:30 please.
Aidan: Can't wait to see you.
I woke up and I went down stairs. I walked into the kitchen and saw my dad sitting at the counter eating a bowl of cereal. He was in great shape for a 45 year old. I got myself some cereal and put it in a bowl my dad handed me the milk that was next to him and I poured it in my bowl. "how are you feeling?" My dad asked me in between his bites of his cereal. "I'm feeling better. I'm going to church with Aidan, and then we are hanging out afterwards." He nodded his head and then looked at me. "He seems like a very nice young man. Are you...interested in him?" My cheeks got red and I looked out my kitchen window trying to avoid my dad's eyes. I finally looked back at him and answered "Umm yeah I am, but only if he is too." My dad smiled, "I think he is." He patted me on the back and left the kitchen. I knew that Aidan liked me but I didn't want to flat out tell my dad that, but it seems that he is ok with Aidan which is good because I want my parents to like him.
I finished my breakfast, took my pain medecine and headed upstairs to get ready. I took a shower. When I got out I wrapped myself in a towel and picked out my outfit. I picked out a white skirt with black dainty flowers near the bottom and a black tanktop with a white sweater to wear over the tanktop. I dried my hair and brushed my teeth. After that I straightened my hair and bobby pinned my bangs back, put on a silver heart necklace that my grandmother gave me and put a little makeup on. I went into my room and put my outfit on, and picked out black flats. I looked at my phone, and it said it was 9:27. I grabbed my purse and Bible and walked down stairs. Halfway down, the door bell rang and I jumped the last two steps and opened the door to see Aidan standing at the door and was looking down at me. He was wearing a light blue button up shirt that was tucked into khakis. He looked very handsome.
"Wow, you look great Neve." He said and leaned down and gave me a kiss on my for head. "You don't look too shabby yourself." I said giving him a wink. I walked out on the porch to where he was standing and I shut the door to the house. " You ready?" I asked while looking into his hazel-green eyes. He smiled down at me, "I'm ready if you are." He grabbed my hand and we walked to his truck. He opened the door and I got in, and he shut it behind me. He walked around the front of the truck and got in in his side. "Um, I don't have a Bible so, am I allowed to come in with you?" I laughed, "Of course you can still come in. You can share with me." I said smiling at him.
He turned the truck on and headed down the road towards the church. He seamed a little nervous, "So, have you always been going to church? What are these people like?" I had been looking out the side window but I then turned and looked out the windshield, "In the 9th grade, after the rumors started, I was invited to go to church and at first I thought they were going to be judgemental and mean because it's a small town and stuff gets around, but they weren't that at all. They knew about the rumors but they didn't care. They treated me like a normal person. I feel so different at church, so loved." There was a pause of silence and I knew that Aidan didn't like when I talked about the rumors, because of what happened to his sister, and it made him mad too because he doesn't like when people are mean to other people. "But, they are going to really like you, Aidan. So don't worry." He pulled into the church parking lot and parked.
