Chapter 9: Truth

Menchi lets out a sigh, "That's it, I'm stuffed now!"

"EHHHH?" Everyone said at the same time.

I felt defeated knowing Hisoka is the only one who passed, although I know that we will pass too later on but it's not fair! 

After a while, Menchi got a call and she began screaming at her communication device.

"That's not the grounds to redo the test!" Then she looks at us, "It's decided! Only one passed the second phase!"

Everyone's reaction was the same, even the gang. I mean, it would be surprising to fail at an exam just because of cooking and not to mention, it's a cooking exam too.

Just moments later, someone tried to make a fuss out of it and got knocked out by Buhara, sending the man outside of the building.

"Buhara, that was uncalled for" Mahara said seriously.

"Not really" He looks back at her, "Or else he would have been killed"

"Perhaps" She stands up holding her blades.

"Wow... " I heard Frisk whisper.

"Amazing isn't it?" I stated.

She looks at me nonchalantly, "You're more skillful than she is?"

I just replied with a smile.

"What are you aiming? Why did you want to become strong?" She asks.

"It's pretty simple, when you are the strongest then no one will bother you anymore" 

"But, isn't that lonely?" I noticed a change in her voice.

"Well, that doesn't mean you can't have friends, right?"

"I don't know... Power sometimes can corrupt " She looks down, "And then things can't be the same anymore"

"That's pretty deep, but all I have to do is to avoid it!" I smiled confidently

She looks down and mumbled something I can't understand.

"The hunter association logo! It's the judging committee!" I heard someone shout.

We went to see it and Netero jumps down from the blimp. Talking about an entrance.

While listening to their conversation, I began to doze off...

After a while, I felt someone poking me.

"Hey, Killua, do you really need to poke me with a stick?" 

"Of course, since you dozed off" He grins, "We're going now"

I pushed the stick away from my face.

"Yes, yes" I stretched my arm out.

We boarded the blimp and went to the split mountain. We got to our destination and I'm getting excited to eat. I wonder what the egg tastes like?

"This is the place where the spider eagles lives" Netero explains

Menchi first goes off to jump into the ravine and moments later, she climbs back up bringing an egg. I took a glance at the gang and they look pretty excited. 

"Neat!" Killua said with a smile

"Now that's a test!" Gon excitedly agreed

"Beats cooking six ways from Sunday" Leorio also agreed with the two.

"Let's go!" I said while running towards the ravine

Then we all jumped down at the same time. It was actually pretty simple to do. All you need to do is hang, grab and climb! We finished getting the eggs and climbs up to cook the eggs.
