Chapter 10: Strongest

"The rules are simple, you knock me down on my feet then you win. The same goes for me" Netero explains the rules, "Any method will be fine but using 'that' is forbidden"

Netero winks at me. I know what 'that' is, he meant using Nen.

"Fine, but how about we make this interesting?" I gave him a smile

"Hohoho, a bet?" His eyebrows raised

"Yes, if I win, you'll owe me a favor. Any favor" I changed my expression into a serious one.

"Then if I win, you will become a hunter right here and now" Netero also turned serious, "I have a feeling that you want to go through the exam. Hohoho"

Of course I want to go through the whole exam, I wanted to become a hunter together with the gang after all.

"EHHH?" Gon, Killua and Frisk said at the same time.

"But isn't that a win-win for Rei?" Killua looks at Netero, "Why don't I fight you instead?"

"Hohoho" Netero laughs again"Maybe she has her reasons, however, why don't you sit back first? I will give you two a chance later"

"Tch" Killua looks away.

"Now then, let's start?" I cracked my knuckles.

Before he could speak I used my maximum speed to get behind him and when I was about to hit him, he simply looks back. Instead of backing away, I continued my attack but he blocked it with his hand. I felt a surge of shockwave created when he defended my attack.

"Not bad, not bad. It was definitely on par with mine" He grabbed my hand and tried to throw me away.

"So strong" I landed on my feet, "Looks like I'll get serious"

I let out my bloodlust and killing intent which I've been suppressing for quite some time. I can't hide my thrill and I can't definitely hold back anymore.

"Here I go!" I went straight to him.

We began exchanging attacks at an extreme speed. At first, it looked like Netero has the advantage but I remembered what Hisoka told me back then.

'Your ability to adapt to any combat is superb' 

It was my innate talent and it will keep on adapting. Netero's arms began to bleed from my attack but I continued my furries of attack. Looks like he's beginning to get serious, his attacks also began to keep up with mine but a single second of an opening is all I needed. That opening came not too soon and I was able to hit his left leg causing him to lose his balance. I stopped my attack a few centimeters from his neck.

"Don't you think this is enough?" I let out a sigh, "I still want to fight you in the future, ya know"

"Hohoho, that's true. It's your win" He laughs and lets out a sigh, "I missed this feeling..."

I removed my hand from his neck and I taken out some medicine from my hidden pouch, applying it to his leg.

"You don't need to do that, this is fine. This will heal tomorrow" He laughs again.

"You sure love to laugh old man, but I'm doing this because I wanted to" I replied.

"I see" He then looks at me while caressing his beard, "Your control of bloodlust and intent is impressive! Your battle prowess already surpassed mine"

"Don't joke around, you were still holding back since we're still in the airship" I gave him a smirk, "You underestimated me too much old man"

"Hohoho, I did" We laughed together.

I went back to the three but they were frozen from shock.

"Hey, guys?" I waved my hand in front of them but they weren't responding.

"You go ahead, I might play with them as well" He waved me goodbye.

"Don't underestimate them" I waved back and walked away.

On the way to my room, I saw Hisoka waiting for me.

"Not bad, you're getting stronger" He said while making a creepy face.

I suddenly remembered the sushi he made then I angrily squint then walked away. He just laughs and disappeared. I decided to call it a night and went to sleep.

The next morning, the others and I are awakened by the message through the speakers of the airship. But, before I was fully awake Gon and Killua suddenly jumped on me.

"What was that last night? That was amazing!" Gon's eyes sparkled.

"Thank you!" I gave him a smile and I averted my gaze to Killua.

"The old man just played with us!" Killua said while frowning, "But, I still don't understand why you don't want to be a hunter right at the moment last night"

"I have my reasons, but..." I looked at him straight in the  eye, "You wanted to ask something else, right?"

He's quite obvious if I say myself.

"Oh yeah! I almost forgot too!" Gon stated, "We would like to train under you!"

"EHH?" I gave them a surprised look, "I'm not a good teacher"

"Please!" Killua lowered his head down which surprised me.

Gon also did the same while Kurapika and Leorio looks at us weirdly. Frisk is just watching us, minding her own business.

"Ermm..." I can't give them an answer.

What if I change the story too much? But, isn't the story already changed since I'm here?

"Fine, but I'm only teaching you the things you need to know for now" I smiled.

"Then should we call you master?" Gon asked me with a closed eye smile

"Oh? That's interesting~~" Killua grins, "Master~"

"T-that's not needed!" I walked away feeling embarrassed.

"Master~~! We're going that way!" Killua sure is enjoying this.

"Shut up!"

We were dropped on the top of Trick Tower.

 "To pass this phase you must reach the tower's base alive. The time limit is seventy-two hours." The cute jelly bean said and wished us luck.

I looked down together with the gang above from the tower.

"Wow! The sight is pretty good!" I looked around.

"This tower sure is tall but how are we going down?" Killua said.

"Maybe climbing down?" Gon suggested.

"Look" I pointed at a man who's about to climb down, "Watch"

The man climbs down carefully and he was making some progress when a few flying monsters come and ate him.

"Well, if you can't defend yourselves while going down then it's a no" I let out a sigh.

"G-guess we cant climb down the side..." Leorio mumbled

"Well then" I looked at Gon and Killua, "First lesson, observation"

"Ehh?" The two of them looked at me.

"First person who can discover 'something', I'll teach him a skill!" I smiled at them.

The two of them looked at each other and smiled. They started to tamper with everything, well of course the floor.

After a while, they came back.

"T-there are secret trapdoors!" They both said at the same time, "I said it first!"

"Relax, I'll teach you both later. Good job, now where are these trapdoo---" Before I could finish my sentence, I fell into these so-called trapdoors.
