A Love Like This

Chapter XV

Night of Lalo's Show

Adrian, Melanie and I were backstage in Lalo's dressing room. While the guys were smoking and talking, Melanie and I were  taking shots. Lalo was preforming at the Argon Ballroom along with a few other Chicago artist. The atmosphere tonight was definitely a good one but in the back of my mind something was telling me shit was going to go down tonight. I wasn't sure what it would be but that gut feeling came back. I must have been so lost in my thoughts that Melanie was snapping her fingers in my face.

"Bitch where did you go ? Don't tell me the Patron and this contact high got you stuck" Melanie chuckled as she passed me a shot glass that was filled with tequila

"No it's not the liquor. I just feel like something going to go down tonight" I expressed tossing back the shot

"I'm pretty sure it isn't nothing. Just try to be positive, you're with me and your man. We got you" Melanie said reassuring me

Looking over my shoulder I watched Adrian. His gorgeous smile was etched along his lips as he was enjoying his time with Lalo. Looking back a Melanie I nodded my head.

"You're probably right. One more shot and I'm done" I chuckled

Although I agreed to push the feeling aside I was still going to be on high alert. As much as I love my city, Chicago could be a war zone for absolutely no reason. All because some people are just trigger happy and want to play God. It was something I don't and probably will never understand.

Once Melanie filled my shot glass up, we clinked our glasses together before drinking them down. As the liquor made its way down I could feel my body temperature rising and my body becoming more relaxed. I was six shots in and after getting a drink from the bar I will be at my limit.

"Aye babe, Mel it's time for Lalo to go on" Adrian said extending his hand out to me

Taking his hand into mine I laced our fingers together. Following Lalo out of his dressing room we walked along the long hallway that led to the stage.

"If I didn't already tell you, you look gorgeous. That dress is going to get you in trouble tonight" Adrian said leaning to my ear

Waving him off playfully I looked up at him. "Behave yourself big boy"

"I don't see how you expect me to when you're dressed like that" He said with a chuckle

Coming to a stop we all looked over at Lalo. As Melanie gave Lalo a hug I stepped over to them wrapping my arms around them both. Over the course of Adrian and I being together Lalo has became like a brother to me. I adorned his relationship with Adrian and the love he had for Adrian he extended it to me.

"You're going to have an amazing show tonight. Make us proud" I teased pinching his cheek

"Come on Vix. Not around the niggas" He laughed "thanks forreal" Lalo said placing a kiss on the top of my head

Waving to Lalo, Adrian, Melanie and I was escorted from backstage. As security cleared a path for us we took our place at the front of the stage. While Lalo was preparing to get on stage his DJ began playing some of the last songs. Taking my phone out I began swaying my hips as I recorded a few snaps on my phone. Placing the camera on Melanie she turned her back to me as she began to twerk.
