Chapter XVIII

Two Days Later

"How about this one ?" Isaiah my real estate agent asked

Most of the morning I was searching for properties for my firm. If I was serious about starting my firm I had to put everything into motion. And look for the perfect property was first on the list. The past few places has been dud after dud but this property was starting to show potential. The first floor was spacious, enough room to place a waiting area as well as front desk in it. There was even room for office space, especially if I hired the right contractor. As I walked deeper into the space I smiled brightly, the more I ventured deeper into the place the more charming it became.

"I love it honestly. So far, so good. I would like to see the upper level. That's what's really going to sell me" I answered with a laugh

"Not a problem, there's an elevator right here we can take. The stairs are located around the corner" Isaiah said pointing down the hall

As he led me the the elevator he hit the up button and stood back as was waited. I really wished Adrian or Melanie was able to come with me but they both were busy with their own things. However Adrian and I were going to meet for lunch once I left here. Checking my watch I seen I had about thirty minutes until I was supposed to be at the restaurant. Shooting Adrian a text to let him know I may be a couple minutes late I stepped off the lift as the double doors opened.

"Here you have the second floor. There are already office here, but you will be able to redesign if you'll like to" He said walking down the hall

As I checked out the offices, they had a vintage look to them. Although I loved a good vintage flare it didn't fit in with the idea I had. Stepping inside of the main office, I went over to the window. From the window I could see Millennium Park from the view. Smiling brightly I knew this property was the one for me.

"How much does the seller want ?" I questioned turning around to face Isaiah

"The seller is asking for $110,000" Isaiah informed me

$110,000 was a lot of money but luckily with saving money, the money I made working for K&L Gates and my parents' life insurance money I haven't touched I was able to afford it. But before I jumped the gun I wanted Adrian's and Melanie's input being that they would be a part of my legal team. Tapping my fingers along the old oak desk before me I looked at Isaiah.

"Can you give me two days to think about it ? I asked "I would like to get my partners input"

"I could speak to the seller and let you know by the end of the day" he said

"Please do let me know. I have a prior engagement I have to get to, so we'll be in touch" I said saying my goodbyes to Isaiah

As I began walking towards the door Isaiah stepped in my way closing it. Tilting my head I gave him a look. Feeling uncomfortable I reached my hand into my purse, wrapping it around the can of mace I began pulling it from my purse.

"Why are you in a rush Ms. Parker, I was thinking we could get to know each other more" Isaiah said stepping closer to me

"Isaiah this is a strictly business relationship. I don't know what I did to lead you on but I'm happily involved with someone" I said stepping back
