Manik was sitting on the couch in the balcony of his room, hugging his knees, staring at nothing in particular. Seeing the room door open, Raj went inside and moved to the balcony since the room is empty.

He felt bad seeing his son, the love of his life, the reason for his existence, being lonely and sad and the reason is partially him. Raj has never raised his hand on Manik in his 29 years of life and the first time happened to be obviously worst scenario. He seemed to be 10-year-old at that moment for Raj. He smiled to himself sadly and cleared his throat to grab Manik's attention. Manik flinched hearing the sound and saw his dad walking towards him. He gulped and stood in reflex while Raj sat on the couch. Manik stood bending his head making Raj sigh.

He tapped the place beside him and said "Sit"

Manik gulped again but didn't look at Raj's face and said slowly "It...It's okay D...Dad..."

For the first time ever, Manik stuttered. Be it be fear, anger, frustration, Manik has stammered for the first time in his life.

"Sit Manik" Raj said a bit louder and Manik flinched back. He sat on the other edge of the couch still staring at the floor. Raj sighed and moved closer to him and placed his hand on Manik's shoulder.

Before Raj could utter a word, Manik hugged him tightly and kept saying "I'm sorry Dad...Really sorry...I didn't mean to do that...It...it...It just happened at that moment...I'm...I'm sorry..."

"Ssshhh...Manik...Bas...Bas...Relax..." Raj rubbed his back and parted himself to look at Manik's face.

His face became red due to crying but still fingerprints are visible on his face. Raj cupped his face and made him look at him.

"Manik...Manik...Look at me...Let me tell you something...which I have buried inside me..." Raj said wiping his son's tears.

"Why do you think me and your mom loves you so much...?? Just because you are our kid...?? Because you are our only child...?? Or because we had you after waiting for 7 years...?? Why do you think...??" Raj asked and Manik looked at him confused as he stated all the possible answers.

Raj nodded in a no briefly and said "It's because...We don't want to lose you too...Just because of our ignorance, we lost our first child..."

Manik gasped in shock and Nandini did the same when Nyonika shared the news to her in their room, downstairs, at the same time.

"Maa ji..." Nandini called out more like a whisper while Nyonika was in tears.

"We almost lost the chances of becoming parents again...It was our luck that we got Manik...after 7 years of our marriage..." Nyonika said to which Nandini gulped.

Raj continued "You know...your mom is so independent...She loves to be that way...We loved and got married...We both worked to build a better place for our future...Your mom supported me in every way that she can...We had a happy married life...of course we still have..." He smiled sadly and continued "Just three months before our first anniversary, Nyo gave me the best gift...that she was pregnant..."

"Though I was not ready, Raj's happy face gave me the boost to give him the baby...I wanted the baby for him...Only for him..." Nyonika said while Nandini recollected when her mother-in-law advised them to have a baby only when they both are ready and not for one another.

Raj held Manik's hand and asked "Did you observe the changes in your mom's face when you guys said about your instincts of baby...??"

Manik nodded in a no and Raj continued "That's because...We experienced the same long back..."
