9. FIRST Conversations

Next morning, Manik woke up with the voice of Nyonika saying Raj, "Raj...I got a call from NGO...I'll be back soon..."

He woke up and smiled to himself and thought "I should go and come before Mom returns..."

He quickly took shower and got ready in half an hour. He checked for his dad and understood that he also gone out. He smiled for his victory and was about to step out of the house but stopped seeing his mother coming back. His eyes widened in shock and he ran back to sit on the couch and started reading newspaper which he rarely does. Nyonika was on call, and gave a suspicious look at Manik who was totally involved in newspaper. She cut the call and asked "Manu...You woke up this early..??"

He pretended that he was reading the paper with lots of interest and as if he don't know about her going out.

"Hey Mom...where were you...?? I was searching for you..." He said in a sweet tone to which Nyonika frowned.

"Wo sab theek hai...Tell me one thing...Why you got ready...?? Going out somewhere..??" She asked.

He simply nodded in a no like good boy and said, "No Mom....Just like that..."

She sighed and asked "And why were you searching for me..??"

"Wo....wo bhi...just like that..." He shrugged and she frowned.

"I just wanted to spend some time with you.." He lied carefully to which she smiled.

"Achaa..." She dragged the word and said "Ok...Come with me..."

She took him to the kitchen and signalled him to sit on the slab and he did. She used to make him sit when he was a kid. She smiled remembering those days and started preparing something.

He started munching carrot and asked "Mom...What are you making..??"

"Pancakes..." She said with a smile and he already accepted his defeat and understood that he can't go out now.

"So Manu...Tell me...Howz life going...??" She asked casually while placing the batter on the pan.

He smiled a little and said "You already know na Mom..."

"And that's why I'm asking...Tell me what all I don't know..." She said pulling his cheeks.

He remained silent and looked at her.

"Acha...MBA seat ka kya socha..???" She asked while he replied "Haan...That is done...Classes starts from next month..."

"Hmm...And wo tumhara guitar....??? I don't understand what you are going to do with all those collection of guitars...Seriously Manu..." She said being a little irritated towards his obsession towards guitars.

"Wo Mom....We are trying to make a song..." He said slowly to which she was surprised and stopped what she was doing.

"Song...!! Interesting.....And we mathlab...?? Koun..??" She asked with a smile.

"Cabir, Mukthi, Aliya, Dhruv and Me..." He said.

"Ohh....The monkey gang..." She said with a sarcastic smile to which he pouted and took another carrot.

She smiled seeing that and asked "And....What else you did with Nandu other than scaring her..??"

He was beyond shock with that question and said "What do you mean..?? And...scaring her mathlab...kisne bola apko...???"

She smiled with his questions but didn't answer.

"Mom..Who told you...?? Mukthi..??" He asked and she nodded in a no.
