The Unexpected

Chapter 19

It was Wednesday night. 

Maybe I should call Gracie. I should tell her I'm sorry too.

Rosa took out her phone to call Gracie, but Mama came into her room. 

"Mom! Do you know what knocking is?" Rosa said annoyed. 

"Sorry sweetie, but someone is here to pick you up." Mom said. Rosa got up to see who it is, but she already had a guess who it is. "Just be safe okay?" Mom was nervous. 

"I will mom." 

"Promise?"

"I promise." Rosa headed downstairs to see not Noah, but Gracie. 

"Rosa! You ready?" Gracie winked at her. 

"Sure?" 

"Okay! Great! Everyone is already in the car. Let's go!" Gracie said excitedly. 

Mom was still looking anxious. "Be safe!" 

Rosa nodded at Mama and closed the front door. "What's happening?" Rosa asked.

Gracie smiled. "We have a surprise for you."

Rosa looked ahead of her and saw a mini van. "Who's in the mini van?" Rosa questioned. "You'll see." Gracie was excited for whatever was happening. 

Gracie ran ahead of Rosa to open the door for her. Rosa stepped inside the back and right next to her was Noah. 

"Hey." Is all he said. Rosa just waved back. She saw that Sammy and Addie in front of her with Makena in the passenger seat up front.

Gracie hoped in the drivers seat. "Y'all ready?" 

Everyone said yup, but Rosa was confused.

"You ready Rosa?" Noah asked Rosa offering his hand. Rosa took his hand. "Yes, I'm ready."
