The next day was Friday. Rosa went to school early to meet with her school counselor. Then to breakfast where she met with Gracie.

"I bet it's hard being the new kid right now," Gracie said to Rosa as they sat down at the table, "We're being assigned lots of work for the exams next week."

Rosa shrugged. "It's fine. Honestly. I got all the time I need to study for the exams next week."

"Senior's are graduating soon too. Do you remember Noah? The boy that went up to us yesterday?" Gracie asked.

"Yeah." Rosa said slowly.

Gracie noticed.

"Any news?"

Rosa hesitated.

"He left a few notes, one with his phone number and we-"

She was interrupted.

"OOOOOO!!" Gracie screeched. "NOAH DEFINITELY LIKES YOU!!"

I few people looked at them. But Gracie didn't seem to care.

"Maybe can you keep it as much of a secret as possible?" Rosa said. She did not like him back. She's done "relationships" before.

Why does everyone think that relationships will help their life, but no. They don't always turn out happily ever after. Rosa thought.

"Okay okay, but it's kinda a big deal." Gracie winked. "He's like, the most poplar senior in this school. He's probably the most popular kid in this whole school. Everyone knows him."

"I didn't know him." Rosa said then realized that she's the new kid.

"That's because your new here." Gracie recalled. "Duh."

Rosa thought long and hard. Maybe she didn't like this Noah guy, but he sounded nice on the phone, maybe we could just friends?

"Huh?" Gracie turned to Rosa. "What did you say?"

Realizing that Rosa said that out loud, she covered her face with her hands, moaning.

"It's fine. Come on! Get up! We have five minutes till first period starts!"

"Seriously? Great."
