"So are you and Noah dating?" Gracie asked Rosa the next Monday at school.
"W-Why?" Rosa stuttered nervously.
Gracie noticed that.
"So... what happened."
"Huh? Nothing. Nothing happened. " Rosa said quickly.
Rosa got really anxious. I can't tell Gracie what happened last weekend, I can't! Rosa thought. She was worried that Gracie might tell everyone. That can't happen.
"You know," Gracie started. "Mikaylah and Noah did date before."
"What? Really?" Rosa was surprised.
"Yup. Then she dumped him."
"Why?"
"I'm not exactly sure, but you should ask her."
"Me? No, I can't. She probably hates me for hanging out with him." Rosa thought hard.
Gracie was also thinking. "So you guys are just hanging out?"
Uh oh. Rosa was in panic mode.
"Um, yeah, just hanging out." Rosa nervously chuckled. Gracie raised an eyebrow. Shoot. She's gonna find out.
"Where have you guys 'hang out'?" Gracie asked with suspicion.
Rosa couldn't say anything else. She would blow it. The whole school will know and everything will be bad. It would change things with Noah. What if Mom founds out!
"I-I gotta go!" Rosa stood up and started walking away.
"Wait!" Gracie started to follow.
"No no NO! Go away!" Rosa yelled. Gracie was shocked, so was Rosa.
"I got to go."
