DEMENTORS IN SURREY

(AND STRANGERS)

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷

SONYA LESTRANGE HAS A SMALL DARKNESS INSIDE HER, BUT SHE WOULDN'T EVER LET IT GET THE BEST OF HER.

Sonya Lestrange had always believed that Zoxerra Institute of Dark Arts wasn't the worst school in the world to go to. For example, her mother could have sent her to a muggle school, how would she have practiced magic then? Or she could have been home schooled. So, in the end, she stopped complaining every chance she got when she was home, and shut up. Maybe it was because of her mother's glaring eyes or harsh shouting, or maybe the school had finally convinced her that it was the best, that there was no other place in the United Kingdom where they would get an education like that.

It was true. With the wizarding world being hidden in the depths of every country, the mother and daughter would have to explore many of the countries, costing time and money. But that was what they didn't have. And now, with the rumours that floated around Britain, many wizarding families had prepared to go into hiding out of fear. How pathetic.

Sonya Lestrange always believed that when a problem arose, you would have two options; to fight or to flee. She was always the person to take the fighting option. Hiding did nothing, it would only worsen the problem until it ran and caught up with its victim. Fighting it on the other hand, would eliminate it as soon as possible while it was still at its lowest.

Sonya's current problem was Leta Lestrange. The older woman has always believed she knew what was best for her daughter, not anyone else. Whether it was school, homework, she didn't care. It seemed fine, until Leta began to believe she knew Sonya better than Sonya herself. When she was a few years younger, it wasn't a problem. However, when she grew to be older, that's when it started to affect her. Especially her fourth year, until eventually, she reluctantly pulled her out of Zoxerra.

The mother had questioned where she would go, as she stupidly didn't think too far ahead. Luckily, she came up with the bright idea to send her to Hogwarts, in Scotland. Maybe it was so far away that she could get a piece of mind throughout the term, or maybe it had something to do with the Dark Mark on her inner forearm she'd had since the 1970's. Sonya never actually knew when she'd got it, she only knew that she had it. She had never questioned it, apart from that one time when she was thirteen, just out of not thinking too much.

Right now, Sonya wasn't thinking too much as her hand dragged across the old, fragile books that sat atop of the wooden bookshelf. In all honesty, she was just bored. She couldn't spend her time writing letters, because she had no friends to write to. The ones from Zoxerra had thrown her dirty looks when she informed them that she wouldn't be returning for fifth year, giving her short answers before returning to their activities. When her mind recalled the event, her stomach sank. But it didn't matter, because they were out of the way now. Neither could she do any physical activities because the heat was scorching Surrey alive.
