THE EXPRESS
(TO HOGWARTS)
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS WAS SURELY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Of course, it would be nothing like Zoxerra Institute. There, it was required to have a legal adult to apparate the child, but at Hogwarts, the security was surprisingly low. Almost as if they didn't mind messing with muggles. Firstly, the platform was situated at Kings' Cross, which was most frequently used by the muggles. If that wasn't wild enough, to get to the platform nine and three quarters, they had to run at a wall (how barbaric) between nine and ten. The chance of a muggle seeing was very high, but she hoped they could keep their noses in their own business. Sonya thought that must be a hard task for them.
Despite how weird it seemed to get access, it was done.
So, she stood at the train carriage, being seen off by her mother. The woman waved at her, a small smile threatening to pull at her lips, but she kept it in a straight line. Leta was hell-bent on her going to Hogwarts now, and Sonya wondered what changed in the past four years. It didn't matter, right? Maybe Hogwarts would be better than Zoxerra.
"Sonya," A serious look latched itself onto her face, and she bent down slightly to reach her height. "Listen to me, now. Remember, Lestrange."
"Why?" She tilted her head slightly.
"When you introduce yourself, it's Sonya Lestrange, okay?" Leta told her quietly, careful that people passing by wouldn't hear. Muggle or not, people always seemed to eavesdrop.
"Yeah, I know. It's always been." She asked, "You did this back there too. What's the point? Why can't I go by his last name. . . to y'know, remember him?"
"Doesn't matter. Go on now, the train's about to leave." Leta looked up at the Hogwarts Express, then straightened her back.
Sonya narrowed her eyes, but nonetheless turned around to go on the train. She knew what she was doing, waiting last minute to tell her that, so that there wouldn't be time for any questions. Once she got on, she turned around to look at her mother one last time. Leta placed a finger to her lips as if telling her to be quiet, all the while not breaking eye-contact. Sonya blinked, but the woman had already apparated into thin air. Nodding her head, she went to find a carriage. She kept her head up high, as she knew there would be people muttering something along the lines of "There's a new girl!" or "I wonder what house she'll be in."
She didn't blame them, though. For all she could tell, in her four years at the one school, nobody ever arrived other than first years, and nobody left other than seventh years. Sonya definitely didn't look like a first year. Anyway, she kept on walking. Originally, her goal was to find Draco, her cousin, but it seemed he had disappeared somewhere. Before, he had mentioned becoming a prefect in his fifth year. Maybe he had become one, and if he did, she'd be happy for him.
