Chapter 7

Tails was feeling really bad, he probably just ruined Cosmo's day, he wanted to help her the most
he could, but he knew the way to make her feel happy once again, so he asked: "Do you want that we do go to your planet for Christmas?"

Cosmo immediately wanted to answer yes, but she stopped her entusiasm and asked: "How are we supposed to do that?"

Tails started thinking, then he said: "Well, maybe... I'll ask knucles if I can borrow the chaos emeralds for Christmas, if he do gives them to us, I can power-up a super-speed spaceship and go there."

Cosmo felt great, so she asked: "Do you think he'll give them to us?"

Tails: "I think not, but we can still try, I'll go for him now, do you want to come?"

Cosmo made a smile and said: "Yes, I'll come Tails".

So they headed outside, going for Knucles.

When they left the house, Cosmo got surprised looking at the ground, it was all white, she got worried and asked: "No, what's happening to the plants? Why is everything white? IS THE PLANET GOING TO DYE?"

Tails understood immediately what was happening, he almost started laughing, seeing Cosmo's reaction, he took her hand and said: "Cosmo, don't worry, nothing's wrong, it's only snow"

Actually Cosmo wasn't happy to see it, so she asked: "What's snow Tails? Is it dangerous".

Tails smiled once again and thought that making her a joke could be fun, but she was probably NOT going to enjoy that, so he decided to be serious.

He got back inside and said: "Well, snow can be a bit dangerous if we're not careful, come with me".

Tails headed her to his room and took 2 heavy jackets he wore one and gave the other to Cosmo, she asked: "What's this Tails?"

Tails explained: "Shortly saying, Snow is a very cold water, wear this, it will keep you warm".

Cosmo took it and started looking, then she asked: "How am I supposed to wear that?"

Tails: "Like you wear every other clothes Cosmo".

But Cosmo still had no idea on what to do, he got surprised and asked: "Wait, you want to tell me that in your world you don't have any kind of clothes?"

Cosmo denied saying: "I don't even know what a clothes is."

Tails corrected her saying: "Well, a cloth is something you wear on your body, for many reasons, in this case because it's cold"

Cosmo explained: "Well, we never had any need, the weather is never too cold, so..."

Tails then got suspicious and touched her dress asking: "Then, what is this Cosmo? Isn't it a dress?"

Cosmo: "No, it isn't, it's my body Tails".

Tails was so confused, he started saying loud what he had in his mind: "I guess that's because I bought many clothes to Sherry but she never changed herself".

Cosmo understood that Tails just made a big discovery, he was thinking too about what she asked time ago to him, then he said: "If that's your body, then... well, you asked me to have a baby fox... but how are we supposed to do?".

Cosmo understood Tails' concerns and said: "I had no idea that day, and I still have no idea, sorry Tails, I hoped you were kinda joking or..."

The both of them sighed, they didn't know what to think, Cosmo was even worried that this was going to send Tails' heart far away from her.

After a while Tails hugged her and said: "You know what Cosmo, I think we shouldn't worry about that, after all, I started loving you for many reasons, and none of them are your body... maybe we won't have another baby, but it's ok for me, I'm already happy enough with you, and I'll be even more happy with Sherry, there's no need for that."

Cosmo got relieved, knowing that it wasn't going to change anything, but she couldn't hide that she was worried.

Taile eventually ended saying: "That's something unexpected and not happy, but I don't care, after all, you're still my dear Cosmo, the same I've always known".

Then Tails stopped talking and abandoned himself to a wonderful hug, after a while Cosmo decided to do the same and enjoy their hug.

After a while they started walking outside, and Cosmo had to admit that snow was really wonderful,

Tails took the snow on his hand and said: "You have no idea how many kids love playing with snow"

Cosmo smiled and said: "Tails, we should go for Knucles, remember? But... I think you're right, Snow it's wonderful, can you tell me more about it?"

Tails smiled and gave her a hand, then he explained everything about the snow to Cosmo and how people play with it.

When they reached his altar, they found Knucles sleeping on the highest part of the altar, so Tails made a joke: "The best guardian ever, not even a bee could get close without him noticing her."

Cosmo looked Tails and they started laughing, that woke Knucles who said worried: "Who's there?"

Tails calmed down and waved a hand to him saying: "HEY KNUCLES, IT'S ME"

Knucles noticed it was Tails and Cosmo, he waved a hand to them and allowed them to get close.

When they got next to him, Knucles said: "It's a long time no see Tails, how are you?"

Tails: "I'm wonderful Knucles, all thanks to her" and gave a hug to Cosmo.

Cosmo blushed and gave it back to Tails, while Knucles said: "I'm glad that you're finally back to be the joyful Tails we know"

Tails smiled and said: "Thanks Knucles."

Knucles asked: "So, what brings you here?"

Tails got shy and said: "Well... I don't think you'll like it... but"

Knucles got suspicious and asked: "But?"

Tails: "I'm in need to borrow your chaos emeralds."

Knucles: "What? No way Tails, why do you need them"

Cosmo immediately answered: "We need them to meet my mom Knucles, please"

Knucles: "What? That woman who yelled on me for no reason? NO WAY AT ALL!!"

Cosmo started begging him, but he didn't change his mind, she ended up on being desperate too.

Tails got in the way and said: "Hey Cosmo... can I ask you to give me a moment alone with him?"

Cosmo was there crying, she wanted to meet her mom so desperately, she hoped that Tails was going to make him change his mind, so she walked down the altar and sat on the lowest stair.

Tails took a breath and started explaining Knucles everything: "Knucles, listen... I think that her mom isn't that bad, only she has problems with animals, maybe we shouldn't be this bad with them"

Knucles: "Really? You're not Tails, he would remember that she was bringing Cosmo away from you forever, and you should now... well, now that I think about, you've always been really kind with everyone... why do you want to meet her once again?"

Tails admitted: "Honestly, I don't want to, Knucles, but Cosmo is so desperate, and you saw that."

Knucles nodded, then Tails continued: "Listen, soon it will be Christmas, can I ask you to borrow your chaos emeralds only for Christmas, bringing her back to her family for that day would be wonderful"

Knuncles admitted he was right, then he asked: "And why do you need my chaos emeralds? You already have one"

Tails nodded and said: "Yeah, but I need all 7 for my spaceship, please, only this time"

Tails nodded, then he said he had another request for him, Knucles wasn't happy but allowed him to explain.

Tails used a low voice and said: "It's a surprise for Cosmo, so don't make her know... I've been working on a teleport, but I need a chaos emerald to make it works"

Knucles: "As I said, you already have one, right?"

Tails nodded, then he explained: "Yeah, but I need to power-up both sides of that teleport, so I need another emerald, mind if you let me keep another emerald?"

Knucles then started thinking and said: "Ok, since I gave Sonic 2 emeralds, I think I can allow you to keep another.

Tails then hugged Knucles and said: "Thanks Knucles, you made both me and Cosmo the most happy possible."

Knucles then took the green emerald and gave it to Tails, then he said: "No problem Tails, now remember, I'll give all of them to you only on Christmas, so you'll go away without them today, got it?"

Tails: "Yeah, no problem, thanks"

Then Knucles said: "And remember, I have only 3 more emeralds, you have to ask Sonic and Amy for the other 2."

Tails smiled and said: "Don't worry, I was already going to do it, thanks"

Knucles smiled and said: "No problem Tails, see you"

Tails then started going down the altar and comfort Cosmo, when he got down Cosmo noticed he was keeping an emerald, she asked: "Only that?"

Tails got close to her and sat down next to her, then he said: "No, don't worry, he'll give them to us when it will be Christmas"

Cosmo had still tears on her eyes, but she got surprised and asked: "So... will he?"

Tails nodded and hugged her, she was feeling so happy that she was going to meet her mom once again, she started crying of joy.

Tails allowed her to express all her emotions, then she said: "Thanks Tails, I promise I won't ask you to meet them again."

Tails smiled and said: "Don't worry Cosmo about that, now let's just enjoy and prepare for the journey ok?"

Cosmo smiled and nodded, then Tails took her hand and started heading away.

Cosmo wasn't understanding where they were going, so she asked: "Tails, where are you bringing me?"

Tails: "Knucles doesn't have all the emeralds, so we're going to ask them to Sonic and Amy for the 2 they have."

Cosmo: "Oh, Ok, so we're going to meet them, I love meeting them."

Tails smiled and said: "Me too honey, me too" then they headed for Sonic and Amy's house.

When they got to there, Tails knocked the door, but nobody answered, after a while Tails said: "Maybe they're not home, we'll try it another time Cosmo"

Cosmo understood and asked: "So, what do we do now?"

Tails: "Well, I think we should prepare the spaceship as we can, better start today, don't you think?"

Cosmo nodded and said: "Yeah, nice idea Tails, let's go"

So they headed back home, they didn't even notice that Eggman was trying to attack them once again.

Suddenly Cosmo got grabbed by a giant robot hand, They both got on panic and Tails tried to save her, forcing the hand to open, sadly the snow was making everything harder.

Cosmo: "Tails, HELP ME!"

Tails: "Don't worry Cosmo, I'll free you"

But another robot hand hitted him so hard that he falled on the ground, Eggman started laughing: "HAHAHAHA, Now, let's have some fun."

Tails took a while then he got back on his feet and noticed everything, Eggman had with him the biggest robot he ever saw.

Tails didn't know what to do, but he wasn't going to let him kidnap Cosmo, so he immediately called for the tornado X.

Tails' plane reached him really fast, he started running to get aboard, but the robot destroyed it before he had any chance.

Then Eggman started laughing once again: "HAHAHAHAHA, did you really think I was that stupid Tails? You're going to pay for destroying my base."

Tails got surprised to hear that, then Eggman continued: "You took me away the most important thing I had, now I'll do the same with you"

Eggman and his giant robot started flying away, leaving Tails there without both Cosmo and his plane.

Tails was desperate, he didn't have any idea on how to stop Eggman, so he tried to take his attention, he yelled: "NO, DON'T YOU DARE TO LEAVE ME HERE, COME BACK AND FIGHT ME COWARD."

But Eggman didn't even listen to him since he wanted to make him suffer.

Tails kept trying to take his attention, but Eggman, once again, didn't listen to him, Tails tried to fly and reach her, but the cold paralized his tails, so he couldn't fly.

He looked around to find any solution and save Cosmo, but he found nothing useful, he was desperate.

He falled on his knees, crying and screaming: "No, no, no, no, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COSMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
