"Pass me the cereal box," Tay motioned towards it with her mouth full of cereal.

"You're dripping milk out of your mouth!" Mads stopped eating and scrunched her nose.

I laughed as I watched them bicker a bit before Tay finally got her hands on the cereal box, filling her bowl to brim. Today was our second day going to the studio. Yesterday we managed to create our first song and today we were going to revise and fix up anything it needed. Obviously we wouldn't finish everything today but we were all hoping to at least get a little more done.

I took everyone's bowls to the sink after we finished eating while everyone else slipped on their shoes and jackets. I grabbed the keys to the van this time, not wanting to hail and pay for anymore taxis. We all climbed in the van, shivering from the oncoming winter weather. The drive to the studio was quiet as it was early in the morning, 8AM, we all were still trying to get adjusted to a regular sleeping schedule.

Once we arrived, we all clambered out and excitedly entered the building, eager to get working on the song. I knocked on Mike's door, waiting for him to open it. We heard the knob being fiddled with before he swung it open, letting us in. We shrugged off our jackets before greeting him quickly and then running into the studio.

"I'll be in there in a second!" he told us, shutting the door of the studio.

Bert and I plopped onto the couch as I watched everyone disembark to do their own things. Nino happily clung onto Tony's guitars as she warmed up by playing random scales with Nina. Mads was sat on a stool, staring at the wall as she tuned her bass, turning the pegs slightly. Tay was on her electric drum-kit, going at it already and filling the room with rhythmic taps.

I watched as Bert snapped a few photos of everyone getting ready and I laughed as I pointed out a funny shot he got of Tay drumming. We were all interrupted by Mike entering the studio.

"Alright! What are we starting with?" he clapped his hands, taking the stool beside Mads.

"I was thinking we could start writing a guitar riff based on the lyrics I wrote yesterday," Nina suggested, their shoulders slumped as her guitar strap hung onto them.

"I'm happy to do that!" Nino exclaimed, stepping on her pedal and turning up her amp slightly.

Nina, Nino, and Mike sat around lyric sheets as Nina sang and Nino came up with a chord progression, random chords being played as they experimented.

😇

We were finally finished with day two of the studio and we had gotten a lot done. We came up with the main guitar riff and finalized the lyrics. Mads already had an idea of her bass part and we were planning to start recording soon. Tay already finished her drum part as she had already had an idea even before the first day. It was super successful and we were now celebrating with yet another large order of Chinese take-out.

"Wait so three orders of sweet and sour chicken and four order of noodles, right?" I asked, writing it all down on a notepad.

"Get egg rolls too!" Bert shouted from the bathroom, washing his hands as he had just used the toilet.

"Okay, I'm calling right now, everyone shut up," I told them as I dialed the number.

Tay and Mads jumped around and made funny faces while I called, deliberately trying to make my laugh. I felt my lips twitch up as I looked at them, trying my best to ignore my oncoming laugh.

"Okay, yes, thank you," I rushed out quickly to the person on the call, hanging up phone frantically as I finally let out a long laugh.

"What the fuck?" Nina asked while laughing at Tay and Mads.

😇

We all quickly shoveled our food into our mouths, eager to finally get to bed. Although today was fun, it was also stressful. Nino and I took multiple smoke breaks and I argued with more people on the phone than I ever had before. Tony Perry had also liked our post of Nino holding his guitar, as well as leaving a couple comments.

tonyperry: Dope! Good luck on your debut! :)
tonyperry: I remember recording with this guitar like it was yesterday! 🤘

Nino practically shat herself when I told her, standing up and swinging her guitar excitedly. I guess it motivated her to push herself more as she got a lot more work in then the rest of the others, finishing her part for the entire song. All that was left was for Mads to finish her part and then we would get recording.

We all got changed into our pajamas as we all tried to settle in, the lights turned off and the heater on. Nino, Mads, and I were all sat on the mattress again while Tay was inches away from the TV, watching a marathon of all the "Halloween" movies. Bert was dead asleep, his earbuds blasting some music he was listening to. Nina was texting their boyfriend, Trent, as she sat covered with a blanket in the corner of the room.

"Mads, have you got your bass part all written yet?" I asked her, looking up from my phone.

"Most of it is done, there's just the end bit that I have to fix up," she answered, pushing her glasses up her nose.

I nodded, glancing at the TV before turning off my phone and letting out a sigh. I tugged the blanket away from Nino as she groaned at me.

"I'm cold!" she whined, tugging the blanket back.

"I am too!" I retorted, tugging it also.

We tugged it for a few moments before I rolled my eyes and gave up, letting her take it as I pulled my sleeves to my hands.

"You finished your guitar part, right?" I asked Nino, shooting daggers at her as I saw her happily cover herself with the blanket.

"Yeah, Mike and I finished it today. Nina and Tay got their parts done too, we're just waiting on Mads," she nodded.

I nodded as I got myself comfortable and prepared for bed. I didn't tell them that we had gotten another offer to start playing Warped a month after we released our album. I decided that I would tell them whenever we neared the finish of our album.
