Nino's POV:
"Don't be a bunch of lazy asses!" I begged everyone, shrugging on my jacket and opening the front door to our apartment.
We had bought bikes at a local thrift shop and decided that they would be a better way to navigate around the town instead of dragging our tour van everywhere. Also, one of the things that attracted us to this apartment was how close it was to the studio, so naturally we knew it was a good investment.
"Nino, it's eight in the morning," Taylor said, barely able to keep her eyes open.
"Nino, it's eight in the morning, no. C'mon, let's go," I mocked her as I insisted we that we bike to the breakfast spot today.
Mike recommended it and we all wanted to try it. He said their pancakes were to die for, and that they also had vegan options for Gabi and Mads.
"I'm biking with Nino, I don't know about you guys but we've barely gone outside lately," Mads shrugged and walked out the apartment with me, leaving the door open behind us.
"C'mon guys, wait up!" Bee yelled as he ran and tried to catch up with us.
"You're biking with us?" I stopped in my tracks, turning and asking him.
"Yeah! The weather is gloomy today, my favorite type!" He nodded and smiled as we all put our hoods up and exited our building,
We went to the bike parking lot, our keys jingling as we unlocked our bikes.
"How is everyone else going?" Mads asked.
"The van or probably a cab. Either way, this a good adrenaline kickstart!" I smiled as I pushed my bike away from it's spot, hopping on and waiting until Bert and Mads got onto their bikes.
I pulled out a box of cigarettes from my jacket's pocket, my cold hands grabbing one from the almost empty package. I lit it and took a long drag. Just then, an idea came to my mind. Taking out my phone, I snapped a picture of my hand resting against my bike's handle bars, my half-smoked cigarette clung between my two fingers.
ninobrokenclocks: biking to a new breakfast spot today, having my morning cigarette without @gabluvsbmth (sadly), hopefully today will be a wrap on song #1!!
"Are we good to go?" Mads asked as she walked over with her bike next to mine, Bert following suit. I put my earphones in my ears to give me a boost of energy while I biked, my cigarette still hanging from my lips.
"Yup! Let's go, baby!" I nodded and took off.
I led the way as Mads and Bert followed me. I was listening to "The Sky Under The Sea." by Pierce The Veil. A bunch of their second album , "Selfish Machines" was playing these days, as I wanted to take inspiration from Tony Perry's general style in the album. We knew it would make people absolutely rip us apart for allegedly copying Pierce The Veil, but whatever. We laughed at that anyways.
But, I didn't care, I had a target; being in Warped Tour, up with Pierce The Veil and Bring Me The Horizon and every other band I've ever loved. That was always the goal.
Failure was not an option to me, our band needed to blow up and be big; there was no other option for me. I had no idea what I'd do in life if it failed.
For what seemed like the thousandth time, I once again found myself thinking about how I get to see Tony again at the show we bought tickets for. It also crossed my mind how he is aware that we are making our debut album.
We made it to our breakfast spot, obviously everyone else here made it before all of us since they took the van. They were sat in a booth; Gabi, Nina and Taylor all already sat on one side of the booth. Gabi was calling her family from back home in a language that I didn't understand while Nina and Taylor made small talk. The shop had cute decor and it smelled like vanilla, it was a great way to start off our busy day. I pulled out my earphones as I waved, trying to catch Nina's attention. Once Nina saw us, she also waved at me, gesturing for us to come sit. I slid on the opposite side of the booth, Mads and Bee following suit.
