Chapter 9. The Young Lady Has Changed
Two days had passed since I woke up in the world of this novel, possessing the unfortunate body of the main villainess destined for a tragic demise.
Ang saya 'di ba? It's abundantly clear how much God adores me, granting me a new life just so that I could die again.
Funny, right? Ha! Ha! Ha!
Setting aside the sarcastic jokes, God has still bestowed upon me this second chance at life. And I'm not foolish like the original Cassia, wasting this opportunity that has been gifted to me.
I have made up my mind. I will live a peaceful, simple, yet genuinely happy life. I am determined to alter my fucked up fate. Hell yes, I will!
Returning to the present, I heaved a deep sigh and directed my gaze towards the scattered papers on the table.
I found myself in Cassia's personal study room, which could easily be mistaken for a grand library rather than a mere study. The room was adorned with tall shelves, each housing a myriad of books. In fact, it rivaled the size of the library back in my secondary school.
For avid bookworms, this place would undoubtedly be a paradise. If Faith were here, I could already imagine her ecstatic screams of delight as she took in the aroma of books and marveled at the shelves brimming with literary treasures. That takes me, I think she once told me that her sister was a novel writer and wrote stories for her.
[ For those who need a refresher, Faith is an important character in Aria's life. She served as her senior, best friend, and dorm mate prior to Belle's arrival. You can find more details about their relationship in Chapter 3. ]
But what am I doing here, you ask? Well, let's cut to the chase and make the story short. Flashback to the day I first inhabited Cassia Clorance's body.
After Sir Giorgio examined me, he and Mira engaged in a discussion about the next steps to take in my peculiar situation.
The following day, which was yesterday, Mira embarked on a series of lectures, covering various topics that a lady of the Clorance Household should be knowledgeable about.
Now, I'm not terrible at studying, but the sheer volume of information Mira imparted was overwhelming. We barely scratched the surface, spending the entire day poring over just a fraction of the books she had brought.
Goodness! I never imagined that the history of the Clorance family would be so extensive. It's enough to make your head spin.
And that brings us to the present. Earlier this morning, Mira concluded the remaining lessons, and we managed to finish them more quickly than expected.
